How long does the gum heal after the tooth extraction procedure and can its healing be accelerated

≡ Article 257 has comments

Let us see how long the gum usually heals after the tooth extraction procedure and how it can accelerate the healing process ...

Fear or fear of a tooth extraction is normal if they do not go into a panic and do not provoke a person into a dangerous long-term inaction. When a patient in a dentist’s surgeon’s office finally gets rid of a diseased tooth, at that moment it may seem that all fears and problems are over ... However, in practice this is not always the case, and you need to be ready for this.

After the removal of the tooth, many people start to worry about another question - how long does the hole and the injured gum heal? This is due to the fact that sometimes after the procedure, the gums start to be very disturbing, often bleeding of the hole and pains stretch for several days.

One of the problems faced by patients immediately after tooth extraction is the prolonged bleeding of the hole.

A wound in the mouth at the site of the extracted tooth creates many inconveniences in general:

  • sometimes a hole bleeds for a very long time, and it is not clear to a person in such a situation how to stop ongoing bleeding;
  • habitual food and strives to clog in the hole, further traumatizing it;
  • sometimes the wound starts to fester, a putrid smell comes out of it.

In order to understand how long the gums heal after tooth extraction, it is useful to first understand what processes occur in the dental hole after the operation, how the process of its “tightening” proceeds, what factors contribute to this, and which seriously interfere, creating the risk of re-infection surrounding tissue wound with the development of complications - alveolitis (inflammation of the hole).

The photo shows a wisdom tooth removed.

Immediately after a tooth is removed and the hole is filled with a blood clot, the mechanisms for its healing are triggered, however, it is rather problematic to predict exactly how many gums will heal, since this process is largely individual and is influenced by a number of factors. However, having the necessary information, it is possible not only to speed up the recovery of the gums and bones in the hole of the extracted tooth, but also to make the healing stage relatively comfortable and fast.

Let's talk about all this in more detail.

Why does the hole (gum) sometimes heal for a long time, and what does it depend on

After the dentist has removed the tooth from the hole, the process of wound healing begins with a so-called secondary intention. This means that the circular ligament located around the tooth is reduced, and the edges of the gums come together. The formation of a blood clot in a well has a very beneficial effect on the process of wound healing after tooth extraction - this clot plays an important role as a kind of protection against possible infection. Accordingly, in no case should this clot be removed, for example, by intensive rinsing of the mouth or, especially, mechanically - with a finger or a toothpick.

It is very important that the tooth hole fills with a blood clot, as it will further protect the wound from infection.

The blood clot is replaced by granulation tissue for several days, and then osteoid tissue is formed. In other words, over time, a new bone with a gingival above it is formed at the site of the extracted tooth.

With traumatic tooth extraction, when a gum rupture occurs and a significant portion of the walls of the hole is damaged, the healing process can be very long, and how long it takes to restore tissue will depend on several factors.

The first of these factors is the condition of the wound immediately after the procedure: the more mistakes were made on the part of the doctor, the gum is always worse.

Feedback

Two weeks ago, I removed the roots of the lower right last tooth, it seems sevens. Initially, the removal went well: they made two injections in the gum: inside and out, then the surgeon began to grab my aching tooth with forceps, but he broke off, and his pieces flew off my tongue.

After I spat, some nonsense started: the doctor took a chisel and a hammer and began to hammer along with the nurse over my tooth, as I understood it - to split the roots in half. It was not painful, but terribly creepy, blows were heard in the head, and the vibration created unpleasant sensations. As soon as the roots crunched, the surgeon began to extract them with some kind of sharp metal rods. It did not hurt, but blood flowed a lot, as the gum was picked for about 30 minutes.

After extracting the two roots in turn, the doctor put a piece of gauze in my mouth, let it hold for 20 minutes and put it home. When I came home, I saw in the mirror, on the site of my former tooth, a dangling gum, both inside and outside, and with my tongue touched the edge of the bone, which was not covered by anything. An hour later, the gum became very sick and began to bleed.

The ragged wound continued to hurt for more than 3 days, and, even when it passed, the sharp edge of the bone still hurt me a lot when chewing. As a result, the hole at the site of the extracted tooth was tightened for a month and a half, so it was necessary to constantly rinse the remnants of food from it. More to this doctor, I foot.

Unfortunately, in some dental clinics, doctors still use outdated methods for the removal of the roots of teeth, which are very traumatic and unpleasant for patients.

The second factor that determines the time of wound healing is the possible addition of infection.

Infection of the hole often occurs during a complex removal, when the carious remains of the diseased tooth are thrown deep into the wound, which causes it to fester. In most cases, after such a tooth extraction, the gum and the hole heal for a very long time.

If the carious remains of a tooth are not completely removed from the hole, the wound can fester strongly and heal very slowly.

However, it is important to note the fact that the purulent process in the well may also occur as a result of poor care of the wound on the part of the patient: in this case, the infection gets not during the removal procedure, but after it. When food constantly gets into the hole and accumulates there for a long time along with bacteria from the oral cavity, wound suppuration may occur, and its healing is significantly delayed.

Secondary infections or What prevents healing?

It is believed that the oral cavity is the most "dirty" place in the human body: here, in addition to the actual pathogenic microbes, there is also a huge amount of so-called conditionally pathogenic microorganisms. The word "conditionally" means that such microbes begin to harm only under certain conditions.

When a deep wound appears in the mouth after tooth extraction, which, moreover, is a kind of reservoir for food "waste", microbes that previously could not harm a person become conditionally pathogenic pathogenic, causing inflammatory processes with purulent phenomena. How much time the gum will heal after tooth extraction, in this case is largely determined by the level of oral hygiene and proper wound care.

Proper care of injured gums significantly reduces the risk of their severe inflammation, as a result of which wounds heal faster.

It is important to understand that a fresh wound in the mouth is generally vulnerable to any infections from the outside: for example, a secondary infection can get along with dirty hands during meals, with an old toothbrush and in many other circumstances. The restoration of the infected tissues of the hole after the removal of the tooth slows down: in almost all cases, the healing time of the gums stretches for months until the wound itself clears of necrotic formations and the growth of granulation tissue begins with the further formation of normal young bone.

What is the rate of healing rate, and what deviations may be

Full convergence of the wound edges with a high-quality tooth extraction normally takes 2-2.5 weeks. Simultaneously with epithelialization, the formation of bone beams and the development of young bone occur.

As a rule, the gingival edges approach the well over 2.5 weeks after the tooth is removed.

When a tooth is traumatic to be torn out (when the surrounding tissues are crushed and ruptured), the healing of the gums stretches for a long time, because after removal there is a ragged wound, the edges of which are often far from each other, and the sections of the alveoli (bones) and the intercarpus gape are not covered by the gum edge. When there is inflammation of the tissues in the hole and around it, the wound edges do not converge for a long time and epithelialization does not end after 2 weeks, but may last for 30-50 days.

Only in 4-5 months the formation of young bone tissue is completed, and the final version of the gum “cover” is formed over the hole.

The photo shows almost completely healed gums.

What can be dangerous long-term healing of the gums after tooth extraction?

As a result of the addition of an infection to a wound, alveolitis can occur - inflammation of the hole after tooth extraction, which usually develops already 1-3 days after the procedure. In this case, there is a sharp pain in the area of the extracted tooth, the normal healing of the hole is disturbed (often there is also an unpleasant putrid odor from the mouth).

The result of a purulent inflammatory process is a prolonged healing of the gums, which, moreover, determines the risk of developing a serious complication - limited jaw osteomyelitis.

A particular danger is the prolonged healing of the gums against the background of infection after removal of lower wisdom tooth. Since the lower wisdom teeth are surrounded by soft tissues that have abundant blood supply, the ingress of bacteria into the wound after a simple or, even more difficult, removal can lead to serious consequences, up to the spread of infection deep into the tissues. Infection of the jaw and perio-maxillary areas against the background of reduced immunity can lead to life-threatening abscesses and cellulitis.

When wisdom teeth are difficult to remove, severe trauma to the soft tissue surrounding it often occurs ...

Odontogenic phlegmon is a serious complication, occasionally occurring after the removal of a wisdom tooth.

The extreme expression of these complications is sepsis - infection of the blood by pathogenic microbial flora, which may well be fatal.

Diseases creating risks during and after removal

For the normal healing of the gums in the future, an important role is played by diseases that a person may have at the time of tooth extraction. For example, with long-term use of drugs that “dilute” the blood, diabetes mellitus, blood diseases that are accompanied by poor blood clotting, bleeding from the well may occur, which does not last long after the procedure. Sometimes the blood can not stop more than a day.

With poor blood coagulation, very long bleeding from the tooth hole is possible.

For normal gum healing, it is necessary to stop the blood as early as possible in order to form its clot, which plays an important protective role for a fresh wound. After a tooth has been pulled out, it is the presence of a blood clot in the well that makes it possible to most effectively stimulate the repair of damaged tissues.

From the practice of the dentist

A couple of years ago, I was approached by patient I., 62 years old, regarding the removal of the lower central incisor, which had a high mobility. After a simple removal within 1-2 minutes, I spent a classic stop bleeding by pressing the gauze pad to the hole, gave recommendations.

The next day, the patient again turned to me, already about the non-stopping bleeding from the hole.It turned out that he concealed from me the fact that he was taking indirect anticoagulants, that is, drugs that “thinned” the blood, so stopping the bleeding at home did not bring any result.

After filling the hole with hemostatic means and temporary discontinuation of these drugs by a cardiologist, the problem was solved.

How to speed up the healing process of the gums after tooth extraction

To understand how you can effectively accelerate the healing of the gums after tooth extraction, you should recall the conditions for normal healing of living tissues in general.

There are several ways to speed up the gum healing process after tooth extraction ...

The most favorable option for wound healing is to create the most sterile conditions. Naturally, the concept of "sterile" is only very conditional here, since the destruction of all bacteria (both beneficial and harmful) can lead to negative consequences, for example, to dysbacteriosis in the oral cavity, which affects the general human health. In order not to bring damage to health, but to provide the well with comfortable and not long healing after tooth extraction,For the prevention of secondary infection, both general and local methods can be used.

There are certain rules, the implementation of which will allow the gum to begin to recover successfully in the coming hours after the tooth extraction procedure:

  • Keep your teeth tightly with a gauze pad placed by the doctor on the well after removal. It is the pressure on the wound edges that is important, not the time, although the average retention period is regulated and amounts to 15-20 minutes.
  • You can not eat for 3 hours, and it is advisable not to drink, so as not to disrupt the formation of a blood clot in the hole.
  • You can not smoke and take alcoholic beverages, spicy, hot and solid food in the first days after removal. Fulfillment of this simple rule will allow to protect the blood plug from injury, and the well - from repeated bleeding and purulent inflammation.Sometimes the cause of complications is the smoking of the patient after the removal of the tooth.
  • You can not engage in heavy physical labor, sports, go to the bath, sauna, sunbathe in the sun and overheat for several days (for the same reasons).
  • If possible, do not chew or sleep on the side of the jaw where the tooth was removed for two days.

To speed up the healing process of the gums after tooth extraction, you can use local methods of care for the hole. Rinsing is the most popular among the options used, although a number of doctors warn of possible harm to the blood clot. The fact is that some patients mistakenly start to rinse, what is horrible: soda, salt, vodka, vinegar, hydrogen peroxide, etc. Who than much more.

If you decide to rinse your mouth, do it very carefully so as not to wash the protective blood clot from the hole.

Sometimes such methods do not harm only by luck, but most often there is wound irritation and destruction of a blood clot, which not only does not accelerate the healing process of the gums, but also significantly lengthens it, bringing additional pain and suffering to the adherent of such folk ways. It also happens that such a mockery of one’s own health leads a person straight to the operating table.

Generally speaking, even rinsing approved by most dentists with infusions, herbal decoctions and pharmaceutical solutions causes a lot of controversy regarding the start of rinsing, the frequency and its duration. Dentists-surgeons have their own opinion on this matter, because if you assign a rinse from the first day of tooth extraction (mainly after meals),then it will prevent the accumulation of food debris in the wound and its rotting; however, it can lead to the separation of a blood clot during an intense “gurgling” in the mouth of the decoction of the same chamomile or sage.

A decoction of sage leaves will help keep the injured gum clean and keep it from festering.

Based on the position of common sense, you can use decoctions of herbs (chamomile, sage), pharmaceutical means (a weak solution of furatsilina and chlorhexidine), after consulting with a doctor, and apply - only after a meal, very carefully and without fanaticism, especially in the first two day after tooth extraction, so that the healing of the hole is comfortable.

Chlorhexidine solution is an effective antiseptic.

Opinion dentist

My position on home rinsing with solutions after tooth extraction to speed up the healing of the gums is simple and understandable to everyone, as it has a logic and scientific justification. On the first day after removal, you should not apply rinsing, and restrict mouth baths. That is, it is not recommended to rinse your mouth, but rather to hold the antiseptic in your mouth and spit, and repeat this for 2-3 minutes, at least 6-8 times a day.

In my practice, I do not prescribe furatsilin, because, firstly, it must also be able to be diluted to the desired concentration, so as not to cause irritation in the oral cavity, and, secondly, it dries mucous strongly.

Chamomile and sage decoctions are great for mouth baths on the first day of a tooth extraction, and later for rinsing after each meal. However, this is an excellent budget option, and modern means for preventing suppuration of the hole are antibacterial drugs, ointments, and gels for local use.

Dentist-surgeon, Oleg, Moscow

For topical use in order to accelerate the healing of the gums after tooth extraction, the dentist-surgeon may prescribe the dental adhesive paste “Solcoseryl”, gel “Metrogil Dent” or other drugs.

Dental adhesive paste Solcoseryl accelerates the healing of the wound surface of the oral mucosa.

With difficult wisdom tooth extraction, when a tooth is removed due to serious purulent odontogenic processes in the surrounding tissues and jaw bones, as well as in weakened patients, additional antibiotic therapy is prescribed, most often with antibiotic drugs, as they reduce the microbial load in and around the wound , so that the gum heals for not so long.

Hello, Doctor. A week ago, the lower tooth was removed, but the wound does not come alive and I constantly feel pain. I went to the doctor again, he said that everything is in order and you just need to rinse with salt. The pain does not go away, I stopped drinking painkillers, as I began to feel tired. Tell me please, can I use an ointment for fast healing without a doctor's recommendation? I am in Italy now and I have no one to consult. Thank.

Hello! I had a tooth removed yesterday at 10:30 in the morning, I removed the gauze cotton at 11.00. At 14.00 I ate (borsch and compote only), then a couple only, and chew the other side of the jaw. The place of tooth extraction still hurts. I was recommended to rinse with salt, but I'm afraid. What should be rinsed, so as not to irritate the wound? When will the jaw hurt? I soon in the hospital, after 1-2 weeks. I'm afraid ((

Hello! A number of dentists do not recommend rinsing the mouth after removal.Especially it concerns soda-salt solutions, which are dangerous for leaching of a blood clot. Most often, if the dentist did everything right, the hole heals itself: without any outside intervention. In extreme cases, you can use harmless oral trays with natural antiseptic (decoction of chamomile or sage) with a multiplicity of treatment of the oral cavity up to 7-8 times a day. It definitely will not cause irritation.

The more time elapsed after removal, the less likely you are to damage the blood clot and thus damage the well, causing its inflammation. Pain response is an individual characteristic reflecting a local inflammatory process in the wound area. The more efficiently and without the addition of a purulent infection the wound heals, the sooner you will feel comfortable.

In no case can not rinse with salt, because salt holds moisture, does not allow the wound to drag on and gives irritation. Rinse with soda in warm water every 3-4 hours.

Smell wildly besil, just awful.I just wanted to write that I also had this, because everything that was in the internet about the smell - they immediately write about inflammation, infection. Although in essence: I was completely afraid to clean my teeth after removal)) I am a little worried about the slow overgrowing of the hole, because the bottom one has grown faster, as it seems to me. But since nothing hurts, I will not go to the doctor yet. Rinsed the usual furatsilinom. I do not know if it is right or not, but at the first removal it helped) Good luck to you!

Hello, I thought, suddenly a comment would be useful)) Unfortunately, I removed a wisdom tooth ... I didn’t use it wisely, it got messed up, giving a signal to follow the others more carefully. In short, the doctor said on the first day not to rinse out categorically, try not to drink a lot, do not eat for 3 hours, and for 3 days wrote out 2 tablets per day, it is against pain and viruses. Also rinses with chlorhexidine 5 times a day ... And the pills are still antiviral. And that's all, to be honest, I was insured, because for the first time, the tooth was removed from the root, and instead of rinsing, it simply held on the gum, was afraid that the blood clot would not detach from the hole, since everything heals well. Now worry about the remnants of food in the gums.Toothpick do not want to climb, and rinsing is not all out. It remains to hope that nature has foreseen this, and the remnants of food will somehow push themselves away 🙂

But I know, it is impossible. I look at the pictures and I am glad that everything is clean in the hole, and my smell is like a dustbin, and brushing my teeth does not help, the smell is from there and it feels unpleasant, like yesterday I was drinking vodka, beer, wine, champagne and brandy. In general, in Russian, "cats in my mouth have nakakali" - more precisely, it is impossible to describe my feeling in this situation. I can not wait for the end of the second week, when it will be possible to calm everything off and clean it normally with a toothbrush.

A week ago, the bottom eight was removed, three injections were made and a tooth was loosened for an hour, and the gum was also cut. Two days saw niz from pain, on the second day jaw was swollen. On the third day, it almost did not hurt, the tumor did not grow, but blood constantly flowed from the suture. He drank two plates of Descinon pills for bleeding, received an overdose, acrid sweat appeared on his face, which strongly pinched his eyes. And there was a lot of saliva, a mouth full of 5 minutes. I slept for three hours a night. I drank a liter of beer, which is prohibited.

On the third day, after reading tips on the Internet, I made sage with chamomile and started making baths. The threads dissolved, the blood clot washed off and the suture on the gum fell apart in half. The doctor was clattering her tongue for a long time and spreading her hands, immediately after removal, she strictly forbade anything to rinse at all. The collapsed suture did not touch, made an injection of antibiotic in the gum for prevention. Two days warmed laser in dentistry.

On the fifth day, the bleeding from the gums ended, the pain and swelling completely disappeared. Cotton wool in the hole began to soak, the seam to heal. The first time I slept well, I didn’t even go to the doctor, because nothing hurt, but really wanted to sleep.

Now is the sixth day, the wadding has already half declined, and what is behind it is not clear, there is some kind of emptiness. I do not eat anything, because now food gets into the hole itself.Tomorrow I'll go to the doctor, but, it seems, everything is fine, nothing hurts and does not bother, only the jaw is already tired.

For a week, I ate ground meat soup only on the third day, immediately a liter. From the third day I drink juice and milk. Dropped 6 kg of weight, worn before removal on the advice of a doctor. I really want a cutlet, and not just one, but for the time being I suffer it. Spent four rolls of toilet paper for wiping saliva, two pillows and three sets of bed linen. I smoked the day after the removal of a non-filter cigarette, the doctor scolded, but pofig.

In general, without the Internet would have healed better. And then after each article I diagnosed myself with various alveolitis and dry holes, ran to push the pus out of the gums and rinse with sage with chamomile. Strictly listen to your doctor and focus on pain in a couple of days. If all is well, the pain will decrease, if it increases, go to the doctor right away.

Now you need to restore the crowns. But the doctor says, until the gum becomes normal (will not recover in height?), It is impossible to continue. And in such a terrible way you have to walk for now. The feeling is that the "recovery" will take more than one month. So what to do to quickly "align" everything?

Hello Tatiana! Unfortunately, not every dental surgeon can remove a tooth so that healing will be faster. Gentle removal allows you to reduce the recovery time, but in any case there is a certain criterion of time and condition of the hole, so that the “prosthetic doctor” can begin his work on the restoration of the dentition.

The final design of the well, suitable for prosthetics, can take place over a period of 3-4 months, but often the orthopedic surgeon begins earlier. It is impossible to say that it is impossible to accelerate the removal of the most safely carried out after 1 month. However, in many clinics there is such a “bonus” as a temporary prosthesis.First of all, the client always needs to have at least some kind of aesthetics before setting up a “bridge” or another design, but there is one. Therefore, temporary constructions are made until the well is completely restored. I think that in your case there is no point in again “shredding” the healing (somewhere in stage 2) hole, but to make a temporary prosthesis. The main thing is not to get used to the "beautiful" and not to abandon further permanent prosthetics, and then there is an opinion among patients that "nothing is more permanent than temporary"))

Having read the comments above, I calmed down - it means that I am fine. Three ago, removed the tooth, the top seven. They didn’t hurt, but for a long time, he was big with 4 roots. Sawed into 2 parts. They pulled out for a long time, some kind of curved roots, to hell to pull out. As a result, the gum hurts and the floor of the palate is red, so crushed. Kapets what a hole, I was terrified - how did she heal. And now there is a clot with white bloom. And I was worried that it was pus. Ufff.

Hello, Natalia! Pain syndrome is an individual reaction against the background of a local inflammatory process. If an infection joins, the pain is sharper and focuses the patient’s attention as much as possible to consult a doctor and clean the hole. Unfortunately, you did not describe the nature of the pain. In general, the absence of other signs (smell from the hole, temperature, edema, etc.) is not bad, and pain is a loose concept.

Explain: do you mean pain while chewing, when touching the gums or, nevertheless, constant aching, which does not go away for hours? If you have pain while chewing - this is quite normal, as the hole must recover, especially in cases of difficult deletions.

If there is a prolonged aching pain that makes painkillers drink, then it is advisable to turn to a dentist for help and to perform forced curettage of the hole under local anesthesia. In some cases, additional means with a bactericidal, antiseptic and even anesthetic orientation can be installed in the well.

If you have everything within the normal range and there are no signs of complications during and after removal, then you can simply wait, following exactly the recommendations of the doctor for the care of the hole.

At any time, the pain may decrease or disappear. The main thing is that you do not have the case when there is some neighboring pulpit tooth. This is rare, but it happens: a badly destroyed tooth is removed, and the sharp pain was from another, which even could be immediately treated. So it is advisable to consider each case in the chair of the doctor and with the most detailed history of the disease.

Hello! After a complex removal and on the background of traumatic revisions of the wound, the hole can heal for a long time: from 1-2 months to 3-4. It is required to clarify the circumstances of the medical intervention and the nuances of the medical history. Here everything is important: from age to blood. For example, in old age, the well heals more difficult, with some diseases - the same problems. A complete blood count could shed light on certain circumstances. However, it is best to determine the true causes after the survey and examination directly in the dentist’s chair.

Hello, Natalia! I think that we are not talking about alveolitis - inflammation of the hole. Here you have a more than banal situation: against the backdrop of an excellent “food pickup” in the area of the healing wound, food remains are rotting. This can be joined by the smell of inflammation of the marginal gum like gingivitis or periodontitis, if at that time you already had one or another stage of inflammation of the gums.

On the background of bleeding gums, many people have an unpleasant smell from the mouth, and the removal only provoked the aggravation of the gums in the zone of the hole + turned this area into a center of food accumulation.

You can certainly go to a doctor, but from your side you should pay attention to oral hygiene. Without cleaning the teeth adjacent to the hole, it is impossible to ensure proper hygiene (especially since more than 7 days have passed). Treatment with anti-inflammatory gels for gums (after consulting a doctor) reduces regional inflammation, and rinsing with “folk” antiseptics (chamomile, sage) after eating will reduce its delay in the healing gum and significantly reduce the intensity of unpleasant odor.

Maybe there is a way in which you can still smoke and somehow protect the gum? For example, wadding sterile while smoking attach, then rinse your mouth?

Hello, Ivan! The technique of anesthesia in the lower jaw is difficult for a number of specialists, and the selection of anesthetic also influences sensations. I sympathize that you have some factor in your suffering, although at the moment almost 100% of deletions are painless or with minimal sensations.

I think that you can already boldly smoke, although it is immensely harmful, but that's not the point. During smoking, a vacuum may be created, provoking new bleeding from the well. Blood clot abnormalities are not the best option, since you lose a natural biological dressing.
A number of studies have shown that smoking indirectly affects the state of the circulatory system, which can also provoke bleeding. As I understand it from these studies and the opinions of doctors: smoking is not the greatest problem for the healing hole, no matter how individually it negatively affects the microprocesses in the blood and during the healing stages.

      The habit itself is terrible.

It is not necessary to close the hole when smoking ... It is advisable, on the contrary, to press the sterile gauze pad with your teeth again after smoking if the tightness of the blood clot is broken. An electronic cigarette also requires inhalation under pressure — which is not a risk.

By the way, a number of doctors in the recommendations after removal do not have smoking contraindications. Those who are humane to the patient adhere to quitting smoking, set a time of 2-3 hours after removal. In a number of Western countries, it is possible to hear a period from 2 days to 10. It has long been noticed that this habit indirectly affects healing processes and general hygiene, therefore, during implantation, a number of clinics require you to stop smoking for 6-12 months, which many followed, so that the rejection of the implant is not written off on the "cigarette", and the money would be thrown to the wind.

I wish you to stop smoking in a humane and affordable way!

Hello! I think that you yourself understood that you were “picking up” what is within the limits of normal healing of the hole.

Ideally, you need to see a doctor and form a new clot under local anesthesia during the curettage process. However, in practice, what you did with the hole often does not lead to negative consequences. Especially if you pay maximum attention to antiseptic rinses. Since you now have an open wound, but already at the stage of active healing (from the bottom and from the walls of the hole), it is now necessary that nothing superfluous gets there. It is best to use non-irritating and non-drying solutions for rinsing. You can limit the decoction of herbs (for example, chamomile or sage). But ideally, nevertheless, it is quite logical to turn to a dentist, and after an examination he will give you a vector of further actions, depending on the external state of the hole and the gums around it.

You give it, people)) I saw a bit of a raid, press it faster, another generally drinks beer in liters, puts a third diagnosis on his own, well, physicians direct it))

I removed the 6-ku upper left, the removal lasted 5 minutes, only the root of the tooth remained. It was a problem for me, and once or twice the seal was placed, I could not stand it on the thirds, I split it up with pop-pop. I scored in the end, hard food in general crumbled it and went with him for about 2 years. The fluxes were periodically, which is understandable - access for food was open, no fillings. In short, I was amazed at all this and I decided to delete it. Injected ultracain, waited longer frosts than pulled out. They stuffed tampons and cotton wool, or as it is called, a hemostatic sponge with a very bitter drug. The first day I did not know what to do, stupidly drank sweet tea in liters and chewed sweets, it is simply unrealistic as bitter. On the second day (today) the bitterness has already become less, but there is still, you can live without candies. On the night of the removal I drank lincomycin, such as an antibiotic. The clot was formed on the first day, the blood stopped to go after 4-5 hours after removal.

What we have: the edema was asleep (there was not really much of it), there was a slight aching pain, and when you touch the gums, you also have it, but it doesn’t bother you much.A grayish one appeared, I would even say a brownish raid, such as you know, when a wound is soaked in a bath or a shower and it slashes from the body, that is the color (is it always wet in the mouth, is that so?). I feel good, slept like a baby. Prior to this, the flux tormented and broke a tooth for 3 days, ate and drank after 3 hours. Just get drunk, because In the morning I ate poorly, and in the queue I spent 4 hours, I was hungry as a wolf. I immediately baked all the cakes that my aunt handed over, pancakes that my mother had baked, and blew out the whole pack of orange juice and went to bed)) I didn’t think about any alveoli before I read the “recommendations” in the internet. I was frightened, I also wanted to pick, a little bit straightened up the clot, and then it sounded in my head: “don’t go where you don’t know, let it heal itself, go to the doctor at the end”. He did. I removed the toothpick away, where the thoughts of climbing in the hole, let the SAMA drag on, do not interfere with the body to do its work!

Conclusion: 2 days, everything is fine, I eat, I drink, I copulate (however), I drive a car, I open my mouth completely (I can at least sing), I am extremely pleased. I will not touch anything. I drink it while on the other side, so the dentist advised you to do 1.5-2 weeks. I do not drink hot, I do not eat spicy, temporarily I exclude sour-milk products from the diet, as well as solid food (I moisten cookies in tea).

I will unsubscribe in a week or two, so that you know what awaits you, if you follow what the doctor ordered.

Oh yeah, today I started making furatsilin baths (I spread a pill in my glass), I feel some kind of urine, but I have to, I need to, I will share the baths (just hold in your mouth, DO NOT RINSE) for a week, I will drink lincomycin for a couple of days, and hare I do not want the liver to sit down.

But recently I came across a flayer, who did not wait for the anesthesia to take effect, and tore my tooth out. He did not put anything, didn’t even have a consultation, how to take care, he took the money and left the office. After 2 hours, I changed the tampon left by the doctor, replaced it with gauze moistened with Chlorhexidine, and spent the whole day with it, changed it for the night. Rinsing on the first day is prohibited, so I brushed my teeth and slightly rinsed my mouth. Those bumps that were on the palate, passed, and in their place appeared white "skin". In short, everything heals, the temperature does not bother.

Hello! 2 months ago deleted the top eight. The tooth grew completely in the gum, slightly peeking the edge of the tooth. The dentist healed the wound. On the 3rd day the headache increased. After reading the articles in the internet, suggested that odontogenic sinusitis began. He went to the doctor, who assured me that everything was in order and that I was wasting my time. On the 5th day, the headache did not pass, he again turned to the dentist, who, after careful examination, found a perforation in the maxillary sinus, removed the stitches, cleaned the hole, washed with chlorhexidine and put the solution with the medicine. After a couple of hours, the pain went away, about a week yellow mucus came out of the hole (drank a course of antibiotics). Then the hole "as it were" closed and for two weeks everything was fine. On March 1, he picked up a light virus, and a sharp exacerbation of odontogenic sinusitis, went sharply, 3 days headaches and toothaches, and the hole “burst”: pus began to come out with clots. Again, a course of antibiotics (was observed in Laura and another dentist, as well as in the office). Now (a month after breaking through the pus), the well is overgrown, but not the edges of the well are tightened, but, as it were, from above the gum is filling, there remains a perforation of about 1 mm in diameter. I process tampons with 1% dioxidine and close the well with a solcoseryl paste. Tell me how to continue to be - wait until the perforation drags itself, to make plastic, or is it necessary to have an unrestricted suture with suturing fistula? At present, nothing comes out of the hole, but yellowish mucus is expectorated from the nasopharynx, occasionally in a small amount. There is no discharge from the nose. After breaking through the pus and washing the maxillary sinus through the hole, there are rarely unpleasant pulling sensations in the bone under the eye.

It seems to me that if the problem continues to torment, then it definitely does not make sense to endure the "pulling sensations under the eye." Another question, if your doctor insists on this waiting.

I do not know what your tactics are in life, but I follow the rule of opinion of 2-3 experts on complex medical issues in order to form an overall picture. Not seeing you, in absentia I can assume that plastic with the elimination of the infectious focus is extremely important for the future. Hello! At the age of 14 I wore braces, as it turned out later, this is a useless exercise, if you don’t pull out the wisdom teeth or their beginnings. At that time, they were not even there, but it seemed wild to pull out the rudiments. As a result, by the age of 20, all 4 wisdom teeth have grown. Recently, the right side of the upper teeth has been terribly sore, and it is unclear exactly what, there were doubts between 4, 5 and 6.Even after the photographs, it was not immediately determined that it was a pulpal wisdom tooth with a large cavity on the inner side, which is not visible. The choice was to treat or vomit. Considering the fact that I think about putting braces on again, I decided to do it today. I was lucky with the doctor, everything went right and well. There was a moment when it began to crumble, as it rotted inside (at the age of 25!), And was told that it might have to crush it. But, thank good forces, there were no. Here is the question - is it worth to delete the remaining 3, because then you still have to do it by 30, 40. If one is rotten, then the others do not live until sunset healthy, and then it will be more difficult, plus they shift other teeth into a pile, which increases probability of caries. Or, after reading all the nuances of the procedure and healing itself, - until it hurts, should you not do this? The question is no longer even in aesthetics (to put braces again), but in healthy teeth.

    Reply
    • Svyatoslav Gennadievich:

Hello Margarita! In fact, your question is associated with a preliminary examination of the remaining wisdom teeth and, in general, of bite. If wisdom teeth are wrong in the dentition (any tilts, turns, movements, not full teething, difficulty of teething, etc.), they should be removed without fail even outwardly healthy.

If this tooth has a place, and it is no different from the neighboring tooth in its position, then this tooth is removed according to orthodontic indications and with the development of a carious process: if it is impossible to save it by a dentist-therapist.

However, in the formulation of the question, you contradict yourself: on the one hand, you plan to put braces (“Taking into account what I think about putting braces again”), and on the other, “The question is not even in aesthetics (to put the braces on again) ... ”If you plan to carry out the removal of healthy and normally positioned wisdom teeth for prevention, this is not entirely correct. Although you have a lot of supporters among professional oral and maxillofacial dentists, surgeons who will gladly remove any wisdom teeth for your money. Moreover, the substantiations will be the same: “they break the bite”, “they make a garbage bin out of their mouth, because it is difficult to clean,” “they will soon soon rot,” “cause caries on the adjacent teeth that fit snugly”, etc.

My opinion is to first individually evaluate the oral cavity, correlate the possible risks to the wisdom teeth and then chop off the shoulder. When removing a wisdom tooth (especially an amateur), you risk no less during the procedure and after it. So, only by correlating the risks and seeing you personally, it is possible to give the CO and an informed conclusion.

Hello, Catherine! The doctors are not obliged to give you a picture, as it is part of a medical document. On the other hand, you can safely go to another clinic and find out the true causes of the problem: take a new picture, get advice, get the right treatment, etc.

After removal, there can be anything: fragments of the crown part in the wound, and parts of the roots, and not removed granulomas. In fact, at the moment there may be a dry hole or alveolitis in a relatively quiet stage. Then you will need to treat the wound and make it better in the clinic, where they will take action on your problem.

Of course, I do not blame those doctors that they cannot cope with the difficulties that have arisen.Perhaps they simply cannot tactfully explain to you that they do not know how to proceed. In all people, the body reacts differently to such interventions, and the wells heal differently. Problems are encountered, and in small "desktops" - with enviable regularity.

If I were you, I would finish the treatment with algae, and I would speak with a competent oral and maxillofacial surgeon who has established himself well. Talk with friends, family, friends. I am sure that the light did not converge on those specialists, and the fear of something new is not justified. Since the hole can hurt for a long time to complete healing, or even very badly fester.

After much suffering (terrible fear), the tooth was pulled out, it seems, even completely. In the well put collagen, 2 pcs. For almost a month I went for an examination, and the doctor said that everything was in order. But now my doctor is on vacation, and in my lower jaw (under the place of removal) the bone (like a small lump) has increased as if this solid swelling descends from the lower edge of the jaw down to the neck. There is a slight asymmetry with the other side of the face, if you lift the chin upwards. It does not hurt, but when pressed there is a slight pain. No temperature. A week before that, the voice was gone and there was a red throat (I cannot cure pharyngitis in the fall, three types of antibiotics did not work). The tooth seems to heal normally, but the gum has not completely closed (only where it was sewn). I rinse with chlorhexidine (it feels like a plaque appears unsteady from it), miramistin, rotocan, propolis tincture, chamomile.

Tell me please, what's with the jaw? Could anything stay in the gum and become inflamed a month later? What is this bump? Thank you very much! I will wait for an answer.

I think that you should contact your local GP to rule out somatic illness. Mumps or "mumps", as far as I know, flows rapidly with high temperatures, but you have no such indicator. If the therapist eliminates the disease, then boldly go and do a CT scan. CT will help in all projections to see the problem area in the maxillofacial region, where the edema was the extraction of a tooth. Together with CT, be sure to go for a consultation with a dentist, and it is better to hear the opinion of several doctors. I am sure that there will be one specialist who can correctly assess your condition. Understand correctly that only after a comprehensive examination of you on the basis of a CT scan, an external examination and in the oral cavity, palpation and comparison of data from an adjacent specialist (a district physician, as an option), you can understand what is happening to you. In other words, until an accurate diagnosis is made, treatment using the “finger to the sky” principle may not bring results.

Hello Svetlana! I will not hide, but after any removal of teeth, something may remain. It all depends on the professionalism and conscience of the doctor. The fact that there is no temperature is good, but a traumaticly removed tooth, and even with errors, could lead to the fact that the edges of the alveoli or even the alveolar process of the jaw are pointed. That is why it may seem that a seal has arisen.

In general, in fact there can be anything: fragments in a wound, not removed root, remnants of fragments of jaw bone, etc. I think that for objectivity it is worth taking a snapshot of the zone of removal and get advice (full-time) from a well-proven maxillofacial surgeon, but another one. Without seeing you, and, sorry, without “feeling” the swelling, it is difficult for me to assume anything: terrible or not terrible. "Cone" is a somewhat strange concept, so that you can sew it in absentia to any diagnosis.

By the way, I can say that lymphadenitis is an inflammation of the lymph nodes, which can also give sensations to the bumps under the jaw. That is why it is so important to analyze your common sores and local healing process, so as not to mess things up.Sometimes it happens that healing is not the case, and some diseases leave an imprint and violate the diagnosis of the true cause of the problem.

Hello, Svyatoslav Gennadyevich! I sincerely thank you for the detailed answer! The therapist sent to the surgeon. Ultrasound of the submandibular region and lymph nodes did not bring clarity - the doctor said that everything is in a heap - it is not clear what exactly causes edema. There is a bone defect of 0.2 cm, infiltration of the surrounding tissue with a spread to the parotid salivary gland (approx. 2.20 * 1.5) without a clear contour and abscess formation. In a certain zone lymphadenitis (0 to 2.2).

At the weekend I visited another surgeon, she said that there was a small white spot in the area of the extracted tooth and that it could be a piece of bone or the like. She added levomecol to the gums 3 times a day to antibiotics and said that she had to pull out if there was something left. I smear, but so far the tumor has not fully subsided, although the cheekbone has become much better from antibiotics. But there was some kind of aching pain, passing from tooth to tooth across the jaw.

Tomorrow I go to see the doctor who performed the operation. I'm afraid terribly.

Thank you for providing invaluable medical and “psychological” help, explaining what to pay attention to and reducing fears of obscurity!

Hello! The lower wisdom tooth, which was lying incorrectly and not completely cutting through, was removed quickly and almost painlessly. After that, they sewed up (they said, no longer come and that the threads themselves will dissolve) and sent home without giving any recommendations. Two days later, she visited another dentist complaining of pain when swallowing and giving pain in her ear. The doctor said that everything is in order, the gum heals, it is not necessary to drink antibiotics, you can rinse with furacilin to calm you down. After rinsing with furatsilinom the next day was already easy.

Given: the fifth day after removal. And today I completely dissolve the thread. The gum has opened a little along the seam, but the holes themselves are not visible. There is no pain, it does not hurt to swallow, the mouth opens painlessly, but periodically there is an aching sensation and it still gives to the ear. Is it okay? Is it scarythat the threads have resolved and opened the gums? On Monday, run to the dentist? Is this a dull, distant feeling in the ear, as a consequence of the removal of a wisdom tooth, or is it time to go to Laura?

Hello, Alexandra! From the lower teeth (jaw) pain radiates (gives) to the ear and not only. This is in the order of things - Laure will not help here. The consequence of removing a wisdom tooth is a preserved symptom that bothers you. I think that it is more associated with irritation of the wound during the meal. For the fifth day after removal, this is more than normal, especially since the aching sensation is not a cause for panic.

On Monday, you need not "run", but calmly turn to a dentist for advice. Most likely, you will be adjusted home treatment, or you just make sure that everything is in order and you in this context is not enough, that depends. Moreover, the stitches were applied (such expensive - absorbable) with the great goal: to eliminate the large entrance gate of the infection and bring the wound edges together so that they would not impede healing. The fact that the edges began to diverge slightly on day 5 is not critical, because the hole is now in full swing at the stage of forming tissues from your blood clot and the walls of the hole itself.

I think that a dentist with an in-person consultation can reassure you on the basis of accurate wound examination data.

Good day! Yesterday I removed a wisdom tooth, everything seemed to be normal (I slept well at night). This morning a little pain began, and by noon the gums had completely ached. I went to the doctor, said that I was fine, and in order to relieve pain, apply Solcoseryl paste. Tell me, can I use it when the hole is open? Thank.

    • Svyatoslav Gennadievich:

Hello, Xenia! Dental adhesive paste Solcoseryl, which was prescribed to you by a doctor, is used on wounds to speed up their healing. It does nothing wrong: it only stimulates the formation of collagen and accelerates the epithelization of the tissues of the well. Formally, it does not anesthetize, but it plays the role of a protective medical dressing that prevents mechanical and chemical effects on the wound and its damage for 3-5 hours. It is this that indirectly prevents pain. Paste itself does not relieve pain, but it helps to feel better.

In any case, I recommend for any symptoms that bother you during the removal, consult in person with the attending physician, since the full picture is created only after inspection of the hole and diagnostic measures.

Why do neighboring teeth hurt after removing a wisdom tooth?

    • Svyatoslav Gennadievich:

Hello! Almost always, after the removal of a tooth, adjacent teeth hurt, as they are in close proximity to the wound. The tissues surrounding the tooth have a certain connection with the hole of the extracted tooth, there is some degree of interaction. The pain radiates, sometimes even not only to the teeth adjacent to the hole. The more the wound is crushed after removal, the more painful the chewing and the longer the discomfort in the adjacent teeth will be. If you have serious suspicions on the basis of the unsatisfactory state in you or in the hole, it is recommended to consult a dentist.

Hello Svetlana! I am sure that you should immediately pass a complete blood count and blood for "sugar", since you should identify a possible pathology on the part of the body systems. Whether it is against the background or separately, it will become clear later. If your indicators are too low (that is, below the norm), then you should clearly restore the body, look for a general somatic problem, and then work on the hole. Only an integrated approach will help in your case. I do not want to comment on the appointments of the dentist, but I can warn you: if you miss some of the moments of the state of the body, it may not only have a bad effect on healing. With a general blood test to the therapist, further actions should be coordinated with him and with the dentist. Health to you!

But pain, pain and more pain. It hurts and hurts. Painkillers stopped drinking during the day, I drink at night to sleep at least. But it hurts, without ceasing. I eat almost nothing, basically I only drink, and baby food is puree from food, because nothing comes anymore. Endlessly pressing dull pain. When will it pass?

I also have 4 days to remove from the same side, but at the bottom of the wisdom tooth (there it is barely visible from the gums at all). Is it possible to remove complex teeth with such a break? It is terrible to think how everything will be sick later ...

Hello Svetlana! I am sure that the inflammatory process in the hole continues to develop. Pain is, of course, an individual moment, but most often in the context of removal is the result of the infection being attached to the well. The body, of course, fights as it can.Pain is a kind of indicator here.

I would like to look at the state of the hole and the shot of the hole after tooth extraction. This is important for forecasting and assessing the situation. As for the removal of a new tooth: if it is not an emergency option, then you should not remove wisdom teeth yet. No one knows how sensitive it will be for you to have two wounds at once.

About the break: a break can be in 1 day, but each situation should be analyzed individually. Only in this way and removal, and healing will be as comfortable as possible.

Hello! Simply, the dentist should check (especially after a complex removal) whether there are any sharp edges of the hole.If the doctor does not have enough time for this, then the hole heals with a sharp edge, so the risk of injury is high. If the removal is carried out as carefully as possible, then there is no sharp edge. But in the case of breaking off the wall of the hole or inter-root walls, the sharp edges begin to injure the healing gums. I think it’s not about age, but about the features of tooth extraction and the doctor’s attitude to his work.

Hello! In fact, the question is relevant, but somewhat delicate. Formally, what interferes with proper prosthetics should be corrected. What you have formed is most likely an exostosis. This deformation, of course, can “fix” the time, but sometimes it takes a long time to wait, and until this point you may lose the skill to use the prosthesis. If you don’t use it (it hurts), then in a couple of months you don’t want to wear it at all. The sharp edges of the alveoli can "dissolve" for 6-12 months. I'm not sure that you should rely on any minimum time, so I recommend doing it right away, as expected: correcting the sharp edge of the alveoli. You do not want to “cut the gum again”, and I have no desire to ruin the life of you and your prosthetist, who simply cannot do quality work — you cannot wear it. In general, after correction, it will also be necessary to wait for some time, but this is much less and obviously more promising than a blind wait at the sea for the weather. Thanks for asking.

Hello! A week ago, the lower right wisdom tooth was removed. According to the dental surgeon, the tooth was very complex (it did not grow up, but to the side, at the root of 7). In general, removed, stitched. The process was painful and long - they tormented for about an hour. On the first day of removal, the temperature rose and lasted a day, until now there is an unpleasant smell from the place of the hole. Yesterday I was at the second visit to the doctor, he removed the stitches, he said that everything was fine. My complaints about joint pain, constant pain in the temple (all right hemisphere of the head constantly hurt), tonsils from the torn out tooth, terrible smell - said it was normal and could be so painful for weeks 2, because, again - the case was hard and I was tormented for a long time. But this is not what worries the most ... Today, finally, I saw after removing the seam, that i don't have any clot. Just open hole. And the terrible smell from it. There is almost no raid. Just gaping hole. This is normal? I follow the recommendation of the doctor - I regularly make chamomile baths. He didn't give me anything more. At the same time, the entire right side at the site of the tooth pulled out is very responsive to cold / cool / warm. Before the seam was removed, the raid was (specifically: until yesterday), and now it’s just a hole, and there is practically no raid. Please advise - is this normal? Maybe still use wound healing ointment? The doctor has gotten very young - perhaps he is simply reinsured. I wish it all healed quickly. And then the eternal aching pain and the reaction to temperature, enrages straight. Already tired.

Hello! By all indications, you have alveolitis wells or the effect of "dry wells." This is not the norm and complicates the process of normal wound healing. I think that the doctor hopes that the immune system will cope. However, it is not clear why antibiotics, antihistamines, etc. were not prescribed. after a difficult and traumatic wisdom tooth removal. And why the doctor did not refresh the wound under anesthesia,to speed up the healing process and make it as favorable and comfortable as possible. It is a concern and your reaction to cold and warm. I'm afraid that you should carefully analyze the condition of the 7 tooth, which was close to removal. The doctor could accidentally damage the tooth root tissues, enamel, or even produce a 7 teeth subluxation, using it under the support of instruments with excessive zeal. I think that it is worth referring to a dentist-therapist: let the doctor carefully examine the reaction to the temperature, as this often comes from the “offended” traumatic removal of the seventh tooth.

Good evening! They removed the lower right wisdom tooth and put a drainage there, a “gum”, as the doctor said, and sewed it up. Tell me, please, a blood clot is formed there, does this drainage interfere, or should a clot appear after removing the drainage?

And tell me how to properly use chlorhexidine for baths, clean or dilute somehow?

And yet, here one of the visitors wrote that after the removal of the tooth, he temporarily excluded sour-milk products from the diet. Does this in any way affect the formation of a blood clot or the healing of the hole - only I can eat them for now. Thank.

Hello! 0.05% chlorhexidine bigluconate can be used for baths as prescribed by a doctor. Usually 3-4 times a day for 20-30 seconds of retention in the oral cavity.

Drainage is put in order to speed up the process of "discharge" of purulent exudate, since wounds after tooth extraction may not be enough for this. A blood clot is formed independently of the drainage, in the well itself. If this does not happen, then a “dry well” effect may occur, which reduces the comfort of healing and its speed. "Eraser" here plays a minor role.

Sour-milk products are excellent when a doctor prescribes antibiotics, as natural to stabilize the intestinal microflora means. Personally, I am not familiar with the data on impaired healing due to similar products. I wish you a speedy recovery!

Hello! I have not heard that the practice of removing two wisdom teeth at the same time on one side is practiced. Of course, the level of trauma led to such consequences. Opening the mouth is difficult at times even when the “hood” of the gums hangs on the wisdom tooth. Moreover, after the removal of wisdom teeth, you have a large wound that is interconnected with deep-lying tissues. I think that the pain will pass within 7-15 days, since the process of tissue repair in this area is not so fast. The main thing is that the state you have is in relative stability, it is possible to have a bite to eat not coarse food, and live without painkillers. Get well soon.

Hello Anna! I do not know for what reasons you were immediately removed 4 wisdom teeth, but this is too “cruel” in relation to the patient. I do not understand in what situation it would be urgently needed to get rid of (wholesale) all wisdom teeth. I have been working in surgery for 10 years, according to indications I had to remove 2-3 adjacent teeth at once (often mobile), or 3-4 single-rooted teeth at once in different locations, but even two wisdom teeth in one day were not in practice.

Such a decision of a dentist in relation to you has given rise to the problem of opening the mouth - this is understandable, since the zone of wisdom teeth (especially the lower ones) is loose tissues, which have abundant blood supply and interaction with deep-lying muscles of the maxillofacial region and nerves. Such a chewing contracture is a consequence of an acute inflammatory process in the lower jaw area against the background of global traumatic intervention. You are now using the principle of "help yourself." I can’t say anything bad, there are therapeutic gymnastics methods for improving mouth opening in a short time. But it is better to have an exact algorithm from the dentist after the examination. If you do everything right + you will be able to attend physiotherapy to reduce the inflammatory process, then your mouth will open quite well in 1-2 weeks. I wish you to find a dentist who will supervise you by this method.

While smoking, you create a vacuum in your mouth that simply pulls out a blood clot. That is, we are not talking about a 100% loss of a clot, but about the risks only of harming health in a similar way. I will say right away that it is better not to use marijuana, legalized in 10 countries to relieve pain sensations using the “forgetting” method. But the cold can be applied, no later than 24 hours after tooth extraction. It is cold, and by a special method, so that frostbite does not occur. Pure ice is harm to the skin and the risk of having a doctor have a different problem.

Hello! The hole can exactly heal, as in your case: the tissue in the gum area takes an empty place in the wound + normal epithelization occurs. In dentistry, there is such a thing: “wild meat” - the proliferation of tissue of this type often raises questions from patients. A number of specialists are inclined to believe that there is nothing terrible in this, although in a normal situation the well heals by simply bringing its edges together and gradually restoring the tissue base with the formation of the bone crest familiar to the doctor and patient, formed by the gum. This is the result of restoring the wells in 5-6 months.

For accurate analysis and to eliminate errors, consult a dentist-surgeon for an inspection.

Hello! This process is purely individual, but the average duration of suppuration is about 2-5 days. Usually during this time evacuation through the hole or the drainage system is completed and the body, so to speak, proceeds to active healing of the wound. If there was a serious purulent inflammation ("big flux"), then the doctor puts a rubber strip (drainage) for several days with its subsequent replacements. So it happens worse than in your case. You just have to do irrigation drugs that improve the level of hygiene in the mouth and refreshing (deodorizing) oral cavity. For the use of these products, consult your dentist for contraindications.

Hello! At the moment you have symptoms of trauma + residual effects after tooth extraction with an “infection! This temperature is due to a local inflammatory process, the edema does not quickly "subside", and time must pass - on average 3-5 days before it disappears completely. If the pain is almost gone - it means that the entire infectious process, which was eliminated along with the sick tooth, does not provoke in the hole the re-formation of exudate (pus), which often forms painful sensations. Alveolitis (inflammation of the hole) sometimes occurs only 3-4 days after removal, so now, for the described symptoms, I can say that there is nothing terrible. However, when signs of alveolitis appear, immediately contact your doctor.

A year ago, the lower tooth was pulled out, the hole had healed for a long time, and the doctor hurried and called. It took only two weeks, he put the bridge, with three teeth. I was surprised that the first tooth was stolen to such an extent that it doubted whether the bridge would stay on such a stub. A year has passed, unexpectedly the first crowns began to stagger, and a week later the whole bridge was in the mouth. She asked the dentist to increase the collapsed first stub, but he removed it, and now he said that the removable denture would be installed. As far as I understand, the fault of the dentist is that, as it turned out, the gum should recover after the extraction of the tooth should take 3-4 months. His second mistake is, I believe that the tightness was broken, and therefore the tooth collapsed. There are no guilty ones, but I lost 3 teeth, five ceramics crowns of 10 thousand tenge one plus, in total with the removal of nerves, lost over 100 thousand tenge and remained at the broken trough. The conclusion is: to go to the dentist is just to lose your teeth, because, as a rule, 80% of the tooth under the crown is destroyed and only bits from the teeth remain. And why are there bridges on both sides, on the left 15 years, on the right 13 years. So it all depends on the dentist. It is good that I came across these comments and found out a lot of useful information. And why do some doctors do not immediately assign even baths with soda (and they assigned me with soda) not to wash the clot, and others have their own rules, and how can black be white?

Hello! The fact is that it is important to comply with the technology of prosthetics.Naturally, it’s best to wait at least a month after removal, but my friend orthopedic dentist sometimes surprises me that he waits only about 2-3 weeks and puts up bridges, and I know his work since 2007 - everything is wonderful. I think that every experienced doctor has his own work and secrets. I can say that there is a list of important points that must be followed, otherwise it will have to be tight (remove all caries from the tooth, correctly determine the height of the crown, carefully try on the fitting and fitting of the crown, fixing, etc.). And there are additional factors - these are the most secrets of the developments.

About rinsing after tooth extraction. First, a lot is determined individually: the doctor's eyes say that it is better to offer the patient after removal. So, not black can be white, but the other is suitable: what is good for one person, the other is “death”. In other words, everything is individual.

By the way, one reputable dentist, who for many years used one technique, considering it to be the most effective in treatment, recently abandoned it in favor of the less popular one. He wrote in his blog, where he advises patients: "Only a fool does not change his opinion in life."The more experienced the doctor becomes, the more it seems clearer. The power of experience is sometimes much higher than traditional techniques and the theoretical knowledge base gained many years ago on the subject.

If the damage was minor, or paresthesia is caused only by squeezing the nerve, then the period is individual: for someone, recovery takes several weeks, and for someone, a year. Here you can not guess.

That is, is there any critical period after which it is worth sounding the alarm? So far, doctors give a period of 2 weeks: they say that it should pass, and the alarm should not be beaten at all. As I said, it will pass. The question is how long it will take.

Paresthesia can even arise from anesthesia during dental treatment and be very persistent. I would rate it rather as an accident, and not a mistake. It happens. But it passes.Almost always.

Removed the right lower tooth "wisdom". When pulled out, the doctor said that there is already pus under the tooth. Prescribed for 5 days to drink the antibiotic Augmentin, 875 mg. 5 days have passed, I see that the gum is inflamed, closer to the cheek, small food gets into the wound (like a hollow) and remains there. Today I pulled out the remnants of it (I did not read the article before), I don’t know if I did the right thing? I did not find a blood clot in the "hollow", but since (without reading the article) I used cotton buds, there was blood on them, I think I removed the clot. Is it formed again by itself? Or should I go to the doctor so that he looks? 5 days have passed since the deletion. Striped with chamomile 2 times and 1 time Colgate with tea extract (for rinsing liquid). I decided that I don’t touch anything else - everything there is “smart” and it will heal itself. I will try to eat only on the left side of the mouth. Augmentin's course drank completely 2 times (morning and evening, before meals).

Hello! The male approach is completely divided, that is, I am for the option of "smart healing of the hole." You almost survived the development of alveolitis, so waiting for the effect of a dry well is impractical. I recommend to continue in the same spirit - to follow the recommendations, and the hole can be delayed without a clot in your case.Especially since I did not notice in the commentary complaints of pain, swelling, or fever. Nothing that indicates an alveolitis, no. Without a clot, a lot of holes normally heal (mostly “male”), since there is less panic, more male behavior and a desire to be in the ranks as early as possible. If serious symptoms appear - to the dentist, and so - the implementation of the recommendations. After a couple of weeks, the wound edges will tighten and only a narrow slit will remain.

Hello! Do not "pull out" and rinse the mouth. Since the initial healing has already been carried out, and the well has partially epithelized from the bottom, rinsing can be carried out. It is better to consult with your doctor about antiseptic rinses. My colleagues often prescribe "herbal" options (sage, chamomile), and there are modern drugs produced by the pharmacy. I think that after a personal consultation with a doctor you will find a suitable option, and to go into the hole with foreign objects on your own is definitely a harm.

I went to the doctor, told not to rinse hard, try to chew the other side, have patience and wait - the process proceeds normally.

Removed 2 teeth: one 8-ka, 2nd seven. 5 days have passed, there is no smell, there is no plaque either, the pain is weak, the gums are not swollen. How many days will the weak pain continue and when can you thoroughly rinse your mouth so that the leftover food leaves the hole?

Hello Tatiana! Many doctors generally oppose rinsing after tooth extraction. Personally, my opinion: mouth baths are good the first 2-4 days after removal. Next - the hole should heal without any help, unless there is a special case. What do I have in mind: for example, complex removal of wisdom teeth, impacted tooth, removal against the background of periostitis, abscess, etc. I think that in relation to your situation, it is best to start rinsing with a decoction of chamomile or sage on day 7 after removal. It is more expedient to discuss this moment with the attending physician, who is responsible for the operation.

Hello. On August 23, she removed the impacted lower 8-ku, deep in the bone, with all the resulting charms. The doctor did not sew up the well, put a tampon with iodoform and told him to take it out after 5 days. After the tampon was removed, bleeding began. He was stopped by tamping again, and removed all after 3 days. The doctor said nothing to put in the wound, rinse the mouth with chamomile. But I am worried about the open wound. I can not normally eat, close the hole while eating with a bandage (on top, shallow), then take out and process Miramistin. But today (2 weeks after removal) I turned to another doctor (because I left the place where I had the operation), and the surgeon told me not to put anything in the hole. That the food itself will be pushed out, and enough rinses! Also, the doctor was very surprised that the hole is not sewn up (such deep ones are always sewn up).

I am very worried that the food will fall into the hole and there will be a smell! And the inflammation will begin. Is it possible to revise the hole, clean it, form a clot and sew it tightly, 2 weeks after the operation? And if you can not sew, then can I use Solcoseryl? And then how to lay it deep into the hole (I do not reach too deep,it turns out only on top and the hole is glued together, and during the day it diverges again to the sides).

Hello! I think that after 2 weeks it is pointless to sew up stitches, since the edges of the wound will not come close to quality. As for Solkoserila, it is better to consult with a local doctor, since doctors have no right to give such recommendations in absentia (via the Internet). Your logic is close to me, but it is best to have a consultation in the dentist’s chair. As for rinsing, they are preferable after 2 weeks from the stage of tooth extraction. The wound is actively epithelized from the bottom of the hole, so after each meal I recommend doing so. Thanks for asking.

After removal, they stitched, but not on the entire wound, about half. Sent home, discharging tsiprolet for 5 days and painkillers. On the second day, edema appeared, his cheek was square. On the same day there was a checkup at the doctor who said that everything was fine. The edema slept almost completely on day 4, the throat does not hurt already and in the area of the lymph nodes, too, became calmer. But pain in the gum and ear area persists! I still drink painkillers. The temperature is normal. The state of the hole I can not assess, because because of the seven nothing is visible, and part of the gum is sutured. How long can pain persist after a difficult removal? Are earaches normal? Should I go to the doctor or wait a bit more?

Hello! According to your situation, you can assume anything: from pain on the background of the traumatic operation to left fragments in the hole and even possible damage to the adjacent tooth (or coincidence - the pulpitis of the adjacent tooth or even 6). Here, without inspection and additional issues, exclude the latter is rather difficult. Closer to 70-80%, it seems to me that just pain syndrome occurs on the background of a local inflammatory process in the hole, which continues with some compensation from the body. About the duration of the pain - all individually. Usually up to 7-14 days can be pain when chewing - trite effect of irritation of the gums. Acute pains that are hardly relieved by analgesics are not the most typical option after 3-5 days, even after a traumatic operation.I am sure that consultation of the doctor is needed to clarify these issues.

For about 5 years, I have not performed such a therapy, as it is enough to formalize the wound, as expected, and there will be happiness. But ... There are always supporters of this method of treatment, and success sometimes comes even in such situations. Another option is when, like you, many people don’t like this because of the nausea from the drug impregnation. Of course, many dentists abandoned these tools largely because of their impact on the comfortable existence of an already patient patient.I am sure that there is no sense in tolerating the drug not taken by the body, but it is better to create the conditions for it to heal without doping after a full curettage of the anesthesia well.

It is simply harmful for the patient: to the stress received from the operation to remove a tooth, instead of a calm, beneficent atmosphere, colorful “horror stories” and elementary intimidations are added. Moreover, instead of the elementary-competent advice on care after a tooth extraction operation (which, in fact, must be present on the open site), the author still has indulgent and disparaging remarks in relation to the universally accepted professional medical practice and advice of doctors postoperative care: “The fact is that some patients start to rinse, by mistake, what they do: soda, salt ...”.

In this case, the author, exposing photos of medicines, clearly and blatantly engaged in frank advertising of certain medicines.

Hello! When alveolitis can be radiating pain caused by inflammation in the hole. Cheek edema and putrid odor also confirm the presumptive diagnosis. In any case, you should definitely see a dentist and find out the exact cause of pain. I do not recommend to wait and wait for it to pass. Alveolitis is an insidious disease. It is much easier to treat it in the initial stages than when the exudate begins to "go" deep into the jaw. I wish you a speedy solution!

      1. Left in the hole drug;

2Contact with food with this color, etc.

There are less popular versions, but the fact that you should see a dentist is 100%. So in absentia without examination it is difficult to say something concrete and prescribe (if necessary) appropriate treatment. Thanks for asking.

I can also say that superfast healing cannot be obtained. You can help, but only partially, on average, it takes 4-6 months to fully restore the gums and bones of the alveolar process. And with regards to only the gums - 2-3 months before its expected form.

4 days ago I had a tooth removed and a cyst was cut out with it, the tooth was removed long and painfully (it seems like it crumbled and had to be pulled out in pieces), then the implants were installed. On the day of the operation there was a hellish aching pain that was not removed with painkillers. At night, I drank a sedative and another nurofena. She fell asleep somehow. On the second and third day, the swelling began, the pain became a little less, but you cannot do without pills. From the third day I began to drink antibiotics prescribed by a doctor and dissolve Imudon. Now the white bloom on the well worries, and yet this pain is aching (the tumor has diminished a little). I would like to know if this is a normal phenomenon - pain and plaque (I “wind up” a lot of myself, that this is not a plaque, but pus, but there is no smell, it seems). The hole itself does not hurt either, the bone into which the implants are inserted is so painful.

I will be very grateful for any kind of answer.

However, there is, of course, a reason to visit the doctor who installed the implants. He must constantly monitor the state of the installed structures, since further tactics and the prospect of a positive outcome of the entire work depend on this. Thanks for asking.

Hello! And how did you understand that you had this complication? It seems to me that the dentist has taken all measures to eliminate the possible consequences. I will not delve into the technical details, but once you calmly ask this question, then during lunch you have soup, pasta, etc. Do not flow from the nose, as sometimes happens. In all seriousness.

This means that if the doctor has eliminated a possible version of the consequences mentioned above, then the hole will heal as usual (it is better that this happens under the supervision of a dentist). It is important to always consult a doctor in order to correct further treatment if possible.
Bottom line: the restoration of the hole in a natural way with such a complication during the removal, of course, is possible, especially with the professional management of the treatment.

The surgeon examined, said that either pulpitis, or the top eight, sent to the dentist. The dentist did not find obvious pulpitis, he cleaned the caries and that's it. This problem did not solve. The surgeon removed the top eight (after which the perforation into the sinus was formed, it took a week with a tampon, it seems, everything is tightened), also past. The dentist depulped the bottom six and the seven, where there was caries, again they did not guess. Five days have already passed since the last manipulations, I continue to take painkillers in the morning and in the evening, I have been sitting on them for 20 days already. Hello! Your situation is not simple. What is the best place to start: there are a couple of options that you can try together or separately. The first is to seek in-person consultation (preferably with pictures on hand) to 2-3 doctors in different clinics in order to get a third-party (independent) opinion. Now, my opinion may not even be listed, since without seeing your clinical situation in the oral cavity, it is difficult for me to tell you something. The second option is to send me to analyze the panoramic images through the mail of this site (see in the section “Feedback”). I would like to see a fresh panoramic picture with a new treatment and after all deletions. Maybe they will shed light on the causative tooth. It seems that you have already done a lot of useless work, and it is undesirable to continue to produce it. Sometimes this happens with neuritis and trigeminal neuralgia, and the teeth have nothing to do with it. Analysis of the images can be confirmed by my guesses, or they will be refuted, and a specific aching tooth will be found.

Hello! I know many opinions of colleagues that you can kiss after removing a tooth (or teeth) without harm to health. With “fluid exchange,” it is even an aid for immunity: in the event that you have a regular partner in whom you are 100% sure. As for situations when the partner is not constant: I don’t think that it’s worth kissing the first person you meet without proper help, at least for security reasons, and after tooth extraction, especially when there is an open wound in the mouth.

My point of view is that with a constant partner (not contagious), with whom you have a long relationship, you can fully kiss in 5-7 days after removal, when the active phase of the wound is tightening. If you develop symptoms of alveolitis (the hole is sore, festering, swelling, dirty gray, putrid breath, temperature), then it is better not to kiss for the sake of your comfort and, of course, the comfort of your partner.

As for oral sex: if you know for sure that your partner is safe in all senses, then I recommend using (temporarily) a condom. I think that 2 weeks with normal healing of the hole is not such a long time.

Hello! I think that you were once again "flustered", and you lost precious time on the useless course of antibiotics (instead of removing the causative tooth immediately). Against this background, you may have the state described. Of great importance may be a decrease in immunity. Generally speaking, a lot could have affected here, even the stress that arose as a result of this delay in removal and home treatment while maintaining a sick tooth, as well as admission to hospital — a situation that can corner any adequate person.

After the surgery (and tooth extraction is an operation) you have a state of gradual recovery of the body. One of my friends calls such a situation a capacious word - "otkhodnyak."Personally, I think that you should check your condition with a local therapist, it is possible that you need to speed up recovery with means to raise immunity, drink away a course of vitamins, etc. This is all prescribed by a general practitioner. Moreover, you control the situation in the oral cavity at the dentist, I do not think that there may be complaints about his work.

In general, the absence of unpleasant symptoms after removal is the norm, the ideal option for healing. In principle, to remove 2 wisdom teeth, this could be called a rare case when everything is in order; there are suspicions that these wisdom teeth had certain features that helped you find yourself in a normal situation. Although in my practice there were quite a few cases when complex deletions (not only wisdom teeth) neither on the first day, nor on the second, nor later did the patient bring any inconvenience. So it remains only to rejoice and wish the same happiness to people who still have to extract their teeth when it is impossible to save them.

Not sure of the competence of your dentist-surgeon. It is possible that he has a narrowly focused activity, and you need an implantologist who will help in this situation when there is not enough bone thickness. Naturally, such holes sometimes lead to alveolitis, and in fact - extremely complicate the patient's life. The sharp edge of the bone (exostosis) is usually advisable to remove with anesthesia. It is either bitten with bone nippers, or adjusted with a mill. This procedure is quick and scary as it is performed with anesthesia, but then the wound heals faster and more comfortably. So it makes sense to contact an intelligent specialist to give the hole a normal look. Thanks for asking.

Hello! Tell your story. It all started 15 days ago! The gum started to hurt, but in the evening the pain subsided completely. On Sunday, when I woke up in the morning, I saw in the mirror a swollen right cheek, and again pain, and no longer aching, but strong, throbbing. By evening, I felt the smell of pus in my mouth and found that my cheek had broken through, and pus was coming out - I still had a furuncle in my ear, as a result, it broke through my cheek. I was certainly surprised (I'm not lying).

On Monday, the swelling began to subside, and on Tuesday, November 8, it completely disappeared. I was delighted, but in the evening the pain manifested itself, it was even incomprehensible what exactly hurt: ear, gum or cheek. On Saturday, the 12th, hellish pain began. I found a hole in the gum, from which pus was coming, and then I also felt the same wisdom tooth with my tongue. Since Sunday was a day off, I had to endure the pain, I didn’t even take painkillers. On Monday, November 14, I went to a dentist’s appointment, she looked, picked up her gums, and from there, blood started to go out with pus. She said that she felt better, sent for X-rays. Prescribed antibiotics and chlorhexidine. Indeed, the pain is gone completely.

The next day I came to her again, she looked at the picture: my tooth was lying completely horizontal, pressed the next tooth, plus it began to rot. In general, she sent me to the area! The next day I arrived at the regional dentistry. They took a picture and found that the same tooth on my other side also lies horizontally. They said that they need to be removed in the hospital, in the plant, they were sent there. They put me there, and the next day they started the operation. They injected lidocaine (water) and the doctor began the removal process.

The pain was hell, because only half of this water acted. He only managed to break off a tooth, then he was called for an urgent operation. Without thinking twice, I ran to the pharmacy and bought ultracain with adrenaline (compare prices: lidocaine, 6 ampoules - 18 rubles, Ultracain, 1 ampoule - 105 rubles). In general, he stabbed it to me, my heart was pounding. The doctor began to remove two roots. The result: 5-7 minutes, and no roots, and most importantly - without pain! Bleeding was after surgery about 10 hours, and pain after ultracain went away. They injected painkillers, and the pain went away completely.

Today is 7th day, there was no temperature and swelling at all, pain too. It seems that the doctor did everything as it should, for which I am very grateful to him! But the adventures do not end: delete after 3 weeks on the other side ((

Good day! On Friday, the 18th, they removed the bottom six, deleted without a snapshot. Removed well, quickly, the dentist said he deleted everything, do not worry.I prescribed a painkiller, a rinse, an antibiotic, as I said that I had recently taken a snapshot of this tooth and a purulent bag was discovered. In general, the tooth was removed with inflammation, it turns out. After anesthesia, pain appeared, which I endured for seven days. There was no swelling or smell. Saw nimesil. Somewhere on the fourth or fifth day I went to see the doctor, he said that everything was fine. The pain did not recede. On the seventh day, I again turned to the same dentist: I finally took a picture, but I did not see anything in the picture. But he cleared the hole under anesthesia, it hurt like hell, but suffered, as a result, he picked out a cyst from there. All cleaned, washed, put the ointment under the napkin. The ointment is terribly bitter) The pains have gone away on the same day, it slightly diminishes after eating or rinsing, but I think that this is normal, because there are sores. The next day, the doctor again put the ointment under the mark. The question is: should there be a blood clot in the hole after cleaning or not? What should be the hole with normal healing? In the hole the partition is bare, on top of nothing covers. I rinse after eating. Is it normal that the hole is empty?

Hello! The fact that the dentist has put your medicines in the hole, pursuing in this method an attempt to eliminate the infectious focus and inflammatory process on this background, largely determines the absence of a clot, since it is difficult for it to form in the presence of the applied ointment.

If the septum in the hole is bare (there is bone tissue not covered by the gumline), this often complicates the healing conditions and creates prerequisites for painful sensations, especially during chewing. The fact that the well remains empty is also not very good, since it does not protect anything, however, after a certain time after tooth extraction (about 7-10 days), the risks that an empty well will cause the development of alveolitis are already minimal. It is just that the healing time in the absence of a blood clot increases, and the comfort of such a situation should not be expected in the near future, while the hole is a kind of storage of food particles and bacteria from the oral cavity. If you are worried about the pain, you should consult your dentist and adjust the treatment.

Hello.I had a tooth removed a week ago, I don't know what it's called, in general, I chew it. The procedure was uneven, one half of the tooth (it was loose) was torn out, and the rest was broken with some kind of sharp instrument. As a result, my cheek was swollen the next day and my gums were sore. A day later I went to the doctor again, she cleaned my wound with furatsilinom, and all, sent home. No drugs I can not, since I'm pregnant, 28 weeks. The doctor said to come back to her every other day, and in the meantime, make baths of soda and salt. I got a terrible smell from my mouth, the doctor doesn’t really say anything, only washes me with furatsilinom and peroxide, and terrible pain torments me all week, paracetamol does not save at all. Already the ear started to hurt, but I don’t know what to do. How to ease the pain? What to do? As I understood, I don’t have a blood clot there (

Hello! You have symptoms of a beginning alveolitis, and your doctor may be aggravating it. I recommend to go to another dentist, as furatsilin is yesterday, and such annoying folk remedies like soda and salt are the way to nowhere: direct harm to the hole, and no more.By the way, washing the hole with hydrogen peroxide is also a very dubious act for comfortable healing.

Hello! Not recommended - this is not the same thing as it should. I will explain the difference. The fact is that, secretly speaking, even among the popular methods of treatment there is no absolute evil (well, except perhaps for the existing absurdities). As for soda-salt rinses after tooth extraction: this is from the same opera. Some dentists believe that this is sabotage, since the risks of washing out a protective blood clot from the hole are high, and indeed it is painful to rinse with this caustic solution in the first days after a tooth is removed. Other dentists still prescribe this method to their patients: some almost from the first day of removal, others in the following days. There are more doctors from those who consider the methodology obsolete and risky, but this does not mean that it is in your individual case that it will certainly harm.If such a rinse is tolerated satisfactorily, then perhaps it, on the contrary, will help to avoid suppuration of the hole due to accumulation of food on the gum and its rotting.

Personally, I do not prescribe a soda-salt rinse after tooth extraction, but I know quite a few doctors who successfully apply them in practice. Therefore, you should look at your sister's condition: the presence of pain, temperature, swelling, putrid breath, tolerance of these rinses, etc. If everything is within the normal range, then there is no reason to panic and run immediately to the doctor. Thanks for the interesting question.

Hello! If you mean that the communication of the oral cavity with the maxillary sinus (maxillary) takes place for 2 years, then this looks extremely unlikely, since you simply could not eat properly: the liquid component would go out through the nose. For 2 years, the hole may not heal for one reason only - when a part of the tooth is left in it, for example, the root. That is why your question looks rather strange in the light of my surgical experience and requires careful examination. I can remotely say something more specific, if there is a photo of the hole (areas where a tooth was removed 2 years ago) - you can send it to me on the site’s mail.

Hello! I sincerely understand that in a hurry when writing a question, you can miss the main thing, but in such cases it is important to describe the situation as precisely as possible. For example, when you talk about your daughter, then I immediately have a question: how old is she, haven't her baby tooth been removed? We assume that your daughter is already 18 years old, and the remnants of a permanent tooth (roots) have been removed, and the question is, can you diagnose alveolitis for these symptoms?

More likely no than yes. You have written only two symptoms, which, according to your description, are not the main ones. Because there are pains in the alveolitis, but strong, pulsating, not relieved by analgesics, however, there are also minor painful sensations in the initial stage. The smell of "rot" happens when the alveolitis, but it happens without it, when the hole turns into a kind of trash for food particles and bacteria from the mouth, but the immunity is quietly related to this. There are no other important points that should be indicated. Does your daughter have a fever, and if so, what temperature? Cheek swelling, gums, facial asymmetry? Swelling of the gums in the area of removal: the wound is hyperemic, covered with a dirty gray bloom or not? When you press on the gum near the hole pus is released? What recommendations were after removal, other than rinse chlorhexidine? Or maybe you yourself began to apply this method of treatment? Many dentists do not recommend this type of rinse at all. There is a possibility that due to the incorrect postoperative management of the well, the problem turned out. With such a presentation of material, I just need to write that you need to see a doctor as soon as possible, so as not to drag until the holidays.

Hello! Judging by your description, at the moment there is no cause for concern. The gums in the first 3-5 days after removal are always slightly “swollen” around the hole, since this is a wound, and a wound is an inflammatory process in the background of an injury. The body reacts to damage in this way. White spots are perceived by many as pathology. In fact, this white plaque on the gums consists of a protein of the blood coagulation system - fibrin, and serves as a natural bandage that prevents the penetration of infection and protects the wound from mechanical injury. I do not welcome rinsing, although they help a lot as a measure of cleaning the wound from food, bacteria, etc. Thanks for asking.

Hello! I think that the problem is not in this fragment, but in breaking off part of the tooth root after traumatic removal. The hole heals to a large extent in 2-3 months, and in six months there should not be a trace of it normally. I think that it is necessary to take a snapshot of the tooth in order to estimate how much of the “foreign” material is in the gum, and then it is necessary to remove what was not removed until the end more than 2 years ago.If everything is done correctly, the hole will heal within a few months, and in six months the gum will become even.

Two months ago, my upper wisdom tooth was removed (it’s considered to be standing in place of the 7th tooth) on the right side, assuming that it will be problematic to heal and that it doesn’t carry any particular functions. During the removal, something snapped, and the blood did not stop for a long time, it was necessary to change the tampon frequently. A pierced throat, it was hard to swallow. Then for the following days I noticed blood from the nose on the right side. A speech defect appeared, the cheek fell inside, complete discomfort, aching pains still do not pass, periodically I hear some clicks in my nose. Practically I don’t speak due to a speech defect (as if the balls are filled in the mouth), while there is a feeling of tightness of the jaw itself. Life has become a nightmare ... Hello! Urgently refer to maxillofacial surgery, as your symptoms indicate damage to the wall of the maxillary sinus. If the oral cavity is not directly communicated with the nasal cavity, this does not mean that there is no danger of infection of the maxillary sinus. If you delay, you can get chronic sinusitis, which will require serious treatment. The maxillofacial surgeon should assess the visual and radiological extent of the problem, and only then the treatment question will be decided - most likely, it will be operational, but it’s too early to draw conclusions. You should not blame the treating physician: it is difficult to know in advance the anatomy of the roots and their proximity to the sinus. Most often, the upper 4, 5 and 6 teeth “suffer”, but the eighth ones should, according to the idea, be located far from this significant structure of the upper jaw, but in rare cases it still turns out like yours. Do not pull for a long time with the circulation, as you risk getting a complication, and the hole does not heal adequately. It is best to choose maxillofacial surgery of the dental center, where there is a hospital. Specialization in these doctors is just about extraordinary cases - and worse. For example, while eating, food from heavy patients goes directly to the nose and leaves it, that is, the sinus becomes open to "all winds." Do not pull on a trip to the doctor and health to you!

Hello, I went to several chlh with pictures and 3d picture. The photo showed a foreign body (filling material) and a sharp arrow sticking into the sinus in the 6th tooth of the treated canal (2012). The first person did not see anything and said that everything is normal and there is no message, the seal will resolve itself, etc. The pain did not stop to this day. One person saw the cause in the 6th tooth and saw that the filling covered only one canal, the other two missed the infection and had to be removed along with the filling. She said that there is sinusitis. Others confirmed odontogenic chronic antritis and the cause in the 6th tooth, and the 8th provoked an exacerbation. Proposed radical sinusitis with removal, etc.

Then sent to Laura. ENT dissuaded from radical intervention in connection with the consequences and the hole in the skull, saying that you can remove the filling through your nose. During this time, the nose finally lay on both sides, it was impossible to sleep. Smell is gone. There was tinnitus, very dry breathing. Pain in the sinus area from the side where the tooth was previously removed. I had to urgently go to the hospital for an operation. At home, everyone was in favor of removing the seal microhaymorotomy through the nose. And they drove to Laura (there is no one in this hospital). An urgent operation was performed under general anesthesia. After there were severe pains and a lot of blood flowed through the nasopharynx. Showed a photo of a seal, overgrown with a fungal body and that's it. Sowing was not taken, they said that there was no pus, cotton wool in the nose was removed on the second day. The fact that why the other side still does not breathe was not answered. The seal for examination is not sent, the doctor is not serious (previously chlh praised). For a week, they simply chopped cefazolin and cleaned the crusts in the nose (they did not wash, saying that there was no pus, although the pus came out).

As a result, they wrote out with a supposedly normal condition, although they often spoke of pain and pus. At home, the condition worsened, pus became more every time and the neck of the 6th tooth began to react to food, water, just when the cheek touches. And the pains became even more intense, giving to the eye, to the temple, to the ear. The blood comes out with clots and pus, itching periodically in the nose, clicks again. The other side is constantly laid, the smell is not felt, dryness in the mouth. Today the area of the 6th tooth is covered with white bloom, the very circumference of the neck of the tooth is brown. Now I do not know what to do. Removal will result in a message with a sinus.

If you just remove the tooth and if pus comes out and cleaned through the hole or through the nose, followed by plastic with suturing the hole? Or with the removal will have to do a radical operation? Thank you in advance!

        • Svyatoslav Gennadievich:

If in the 6th tooth there is indeed already periodontitis, which obviously provokes inflammation in the maxillary sinus, then it is necessary to remove it immediately with the plastic of the bottom of the sinus. There is nothing terrible and "radical" in this, it is just important to find an experienced doctor.

In general, the case is not simple, and I cannot exactly solve your problem in absentia, especially since even the specialists who have seen you in the chair have different opinions. Therefore, find a good doctor, trust him and act as he says.

      Hello! It may be:

      1. The sharp edge of the alveoli (bone), which is not covered by the gum;

      2. Fragment of the coronal part of the extracted tooth (less likely);

      3. Or a piece of bone that broke during the dislocation of the roots - the outer or inner wall of the alveoli, holding on to the gums.

Only a dentist can accurately determine. I recommend contacting your doctor, but if you lose your confidence in it, go to any other dental surgeon. It may be necessary to make the well more “clean”, sometimes it requires additional anesthesia and superficial intervention for future comfort and healthy healing.

With an unnecessarily traumatic operation, it is even possible that the “branch” of the nerve passing through the canal is wounded. This occurs much less frequently - and rather, during implantation, rather than when removing the lower wisdom tooth. The average cases are about the duration of the passage of symptoms in about 2-3 weeks, maximum - a month. Positive dynamics is a decrease in the manifestations of numbness with each following week.I am sure that you will be all right. Thanks for asking.

I am sure that consultation of an orthopedic dentist is necessary, since it is worth finding out if there are no exostoses and sharp edges of the hole, which complicate normal healing and may become an obstacle for comfortable wearing of the prosthesis for the future.I would recommend for about a month not to disturb the hole with the wearing of a prosthesis. How to do it competently, despite the fact that you need to somehow continue to live and not feel discomfort - here you could advise something during a full-time examination of an orthopedic dentist.

Hello! From this point of view, there is no, the medicine used does not harm, since iodine in it is part of the compound, and it is not so large as to cause poisoning. I understand your feelings, I practically do not use these drugs because of the inability of many patients to endure this taste in the mouth. However, in Soviet times it was one of the few tools that effectively worked for the good of the doctor and patient for the prevention and treatment of alveolitis - in other words, purulent wounds.

Now, many dentists do not accept iodine compounds, as it causes allergies in some people. You have almost 100% no allergies, so in this regard there is no point in fear, but the doctor must create comfort for the patient. If what the doctor has laid is self-absorbed, then this “sponge” or “flagellum” will cease to act within 6-7 days. If you put something from the older options for the prevention of alveolitis (iodoform on the turunda of gauze, for example), then this economy is better to remove, if you are not well from this treatment. And now, two weeks later, the place of removal has not lasted so far, although it has become less. And what worries me the most is that it still hurts. The pain gives in the adjacent teeth and in the right ear. 2 days ago, I stopped taking painkillers (Nise first saw, and then Pentalgin). Hello! The situation does not exactly fit into the category of norms. I think it is worth checking the following:

      1. Untreated in time alveolitis and its complications;

      2. The effect of dry holes or even sharp edges of the alveoli bone;

      3. I will not exclude in advance the possibility that there is a causal tooth near the hole (pulpitis or periodontitis).

Be that as it may, if you're 2 weeks on painkillers, then obviously something is wrong. It is necessary to check the hole: take pictures for broken tops of the root of the tooth (maybe they still give fuel to the inflammatory process, or granulomas, cysts are left in the hole). Then analyze the adjacent teeth for hidden cavities.

What I sketched for verification is quite enough for the exception method to start looking for the cause of the problem, and only then prescribe something for treatment.

Hello! I do not recommend leaving anything in the hole: fragments, parts of the tooth root, granulomas, etc. - all these are sources of infection, and the body does not always cope with it. Of course, in some cases, it may, after a long struggle, manifested in the form of temperature, edema, pain, localize in a kind of capsule, but this is for some time. In a few months-years this will all go off, and it may already need a serious operation.

A moving fragment, in particular, may come out on its own, but this implies a risk associated with waiting: will there be a good outcome - or will it not? Not a good idea to wait for the weather by the sea. So contact your dentist for the treatment of the hole from all foreign matter. If the doctor refuses, contact another surgeon: take a picture and the doctor can navigate through it to help you solve the problem.

Hello! In a planned way, I would not advise to remove all 4 teeth at once, it is better to remove 1, maximum two. In general, the order of work with your teeth is planned by the attending physician: without an examination, I have no right to decide, everything is individual. If it is much more important to treat now, then it is carried out, then wisdom teeth are removed. I think that the seventh tooth will not become a hindrance for the removal of a wisdom tooth, so the risk of damage to it is extremely small if the doctor is a professional.

The most correct solution is to listen to the dentist in the priority area of work with your teeth. If you doubt the arguments of this doctor, it is easy to get another 1-2 consultations from other dentists in different clinics. Then you can weigh everything, find a common denominator and act accordingly. Consultations in many clinics are free or not expensive, so start with this.

If you do not plan to do anything with a bite (uneven teeth), then calmly heal the remaining wisdom teeth, especially if they are properly placed in the dentition.

Panoramic shot is good in some cases, sighting - in other cases (to decide the attending physician). If you take a film picture of your teeth no more than 3-4 times a month - this is not critical at all. And the pictures on the visiograph (computer) are even more secure.

Hello! In this case, you can conduct a gentle rinsing decoction of chamomile (or sage) and the next day to see a doctor for a check-up inspection of the hole during the healing phase. Rinsing is not always harmful in terms of leaching a blood clot, but in the context of your case it is an acceptable attempt to find a way out, but taking into account the follow-up control from your doctor.

Yesterday (April 27), in the second half of the day, the root 5 of the lower tooth was removed (rotted into the trash), pulled for half an hour. Now there is barely perceptible pain, so, it seems, normal. Tell me, please, when can I work normally after that (I’m the foreman of the repair and construction brigade, and with such a steam it would be time to get involved in the work, and not just walk around the facility and curse subordinates for slowness)?

The situation is simply that the surgeon did not say when it was possible to work, and I was already disgusted by my own inaction - six people plowed, and I only walk on the object and control, instead of joining the work to the fullest. Moreover, now full Zapara, little time.

Hello! You do everything right without doing manual labor. After the removal of the tooth (especially difficult), it is recommended to restrict yourself from such activities for a few days, especially from sports, weight lifting with inclinations and everything else in this spirit. All that I have listed can cause delayed bleeding from the hole, since the pressure during such labor rises significantly. In general, on the day of removal (especially difficult), it is recommended to just lie for the sake of your loved one and follow the main recommendations of the dentist-surgeon. Subsequent days are assessed by the condition, many of the patients give themselves a couple of days off to recover and get to work as a full-fledged employee. Thanks for asking.

Hello! On 27 April, 6 were removed from the left, a cyst and a purulent sac were also removed. The medicine was not applied and the tampon was also not applied, saying that the clot was already formed. There was a nagging pain on the second day, and a white bloom appeared, there was no smell and temperature. On the 30th day I went for a checkup (because I was afraid of the development of the infection) —the clot was removed, the hole was cleaned, a gauze tampon was given to bite, no drugs were prescribed. After 20 minutes, the gauze removed, with her part of the clot broke off (the hole is not empty). Today there was a aching pain, a little in my ear. I made trays of chamomile tincture. The question is: after cleaning the wound will heal longer? Is it normal that the gums ache again (after cleaning)? And how long can it hurt? Thanks in advance for the answer.

Hello! Sometimes doctors act recklessly when curettage of the hole is performed only because of the patient's anxiety, when there is no obvious need for the procedure. However, if in your case there were, after all, good reasons (I did not see them from the commentary), then the dentist can only be praised.

After cleaning the hole, the wound will not heal as long as it healed with a “rotting” clot in the hole, fragments of the crown part of the tooth, granulomas, cysts. After treatment, of course, there is a re-injury, and the hole may be disturbed for several days, especially during chewing. It usually lasts an average of 4-7 days. Everything is purely individual, and depends not only on the doctor and your body, but also on the correct implementation of all recommendations.Trust the doctor and do not worry too much, but if you experience serious symptoms (severe pain, swelling, high fever, putrid breath, gray bloom on the hole), be sure to contact us for a second dose.

Hello. They removed the two lower retarded eights, the healing went well, this was confirmed by the surgeon at the control examination after 7 days. At the moment, three weeks have passed. The stitches and area of operation are still slightly swollen and red. What worries me is that right behind my seventh teeth I see jawbone. That is, the gum does not seem to reach the seven, although it has already grown together. Of course, food gets into that cavity and it cannot be cleaned. This is a surgeon's cant and I have to go swear, or is there a chance that he will heal again?

Hello! If you see exactly the bone tissue, then this is a cause for concern, since healing from this angle proceeds with great difficulty and there are certain risks. I recommend to start with a dentist to clarify the situation. If it turns out that the bone is really visible, then the demand from the doctor is possible. But it is better to limit the correction of the wound, rather than a conflict with the doctor.

Good day to all! I, too, a week ago (a little more) deleted the seven, the left upper one. Observed almost all the recommendations of the doctor. But for some reason nobody invited me to a consultation (perhaps because she came on the recommendation and paid the money past the ticket office). One thing I can say for sure: if there is an opportunity to wait for a favorable time for the removal of teeth according to the lunar calendar, better wait! Now even the abdominal surgery doctors themselves are trying to postpone it for this time. I just did not wait a day, and now I understand myself, why the healing process is not going the way I would like. Husband twice removed wisdom teeth. Both times exactly when I advised him. On the second day, he didn’t even remember that he had such a manipulation in his mouth ... It turns out that he was worried about her husband, but he didn’t save himself.

But perhaps the only thing that bothers me is the swelling of the gums at the injection site and as if the inflamed, slightly friable edge of the gums from the side of the torn seven of the six. Is this the norm? There is no unpleasant smell, only sometimes it seems as if the taste of the medicine is in the mouth when sucking the tongue of the palate. Svyatoslav Gennadyevich, please answer my question.I didn’t look into the hole, it doesn’t bother, okay.

Hello! If you yourself perform a "surgical intervention", then it is irrational, because in this way it is easy to infect the infection. In principle, from this perspective, disturbing the well only for banal filling it with a new clot is simply blasphemy and mockery of your body. Firstly, it is important to know the exact reason why the hole does not heal well, and secondly, when establishing the cause, it is necessary to carry out the necessary procedures at the dentist with sterile tools, and not just to prick the wound.

As for prosthetics: the orthopedic surgeon can easily wait until you solve the problem - and you should not hurry here, it is not in your interests.

A month ago, the remaining fragment was removed. The inner side of the cheek is hard, not elastic and somehow thickened closer to the throat. Please tell me if there will be an improvement? I guess I'm waiting for him too soon. Hello! The fact that you visited the attending physician is wonderful. I understand that the removal was too traumatic, and it is not necessary to wait for the rapid formation (shaping) of the comb near the former wisdom tooth. But I am confused by some of the symptoms that you have described: pulling, aching pain, thickening closer to the throat, the feeling of increasing teeth in size.It is not excluded that there is something wrong with the seventh tooth (besides the obvious signs of sensitivity of the cervical area due to the recession of the gums, which now “weakly protects this“ neck ”). To clarify the situation, it is important to conduct an inspection and even take a control shot of the hole and the seventh tooth. The picture shows the situation in the hole and the condition of the roots of the 7th tooth.

That is, you should now get a consultation from another doctor in the clinic, directly in the chair. In addition, in the hole could still leave something - it is important to have an accurate idea of the state of this area.

Hello. Help advice please. I deleted the bottom six 3 days ago. The removal was difficult, only the roots of the tooth remained, everything else deteriorated. After removal for 3 days, the aching pain does not go away - the place of tearing, the gums around it, the adjacent teeth and the jaw hurt. I drink painkillers. Out of ignorance, she picked a clot when he first appeared, thought it was pus, and he fell out today. Now in the hole there is only white bloom. There is no clot anymore, I am very worried about what I have done? Went to the dentist 2 times, I am convinced that everything is fine. The doctor prescribed to drink antibiotic 7 days (Amoxiclav). What is it for? In addition to all this, there is an unpleasant smell from the mouth and stomatitis develops. I do not rinse it once. What do you advise to do?

    • Svyatoslav Gennadievich:

Hello! Too not to worry. Yes, a blood clot is the best biological defense (bandage) against infection and penetration of everything foreign to the well. It helps the well to heal as comfortably and as quickly as possible. If for some reason a blood clot “falls out” or collapses, then nothing bad happens. The only problem in such cases is the penetration of food into the hole, where it often rots, and an unpleasant smell appears from the mouth. You can fight this, but about the possibility of rinsing with certain means it is better to consult with your doctor. In addition, it may be that in your situation, the doctor will offer to create a new blood clot under anesthesia, so as not to risk it.

As for the antibiotic, antibiotic therapy is sometimes useful so that a purulent infection does not join (or to fight it).A number of dentists are against the prescription of antibiotics “for prevention”, although I cannot say for certain on this occasion, because I am not aware of all the details of your clinical situation.

If you develop stomatitis, it is important to understand its cause and treatment tactics, which will also determine the need to visit the dentist.

Hello. 4 days ago, the lower wisdom tooth was removed. They removed it for 2 hours, put some medicine there and sewed it up, prescribed an antibiotic digest and a rinse with chamomile. Cheek slightly swollen, but not critical. On day 2, nothing hurt at all, but on day 3, the gum began to ache, as if it was burning and pulsing slightly, not very much, but straining. The doctor examined and said that he was healing well. At night, the gum practically does not hurt, it starts during the day. This is normal? How much gum can hurt?

    • Svyatoslav Gennadievich:

Hello! Since you underwent a check-up of a doctor, I do not see anything critical in this situation. The only thing I will say is that the gum may become banal during the day when eating, especially if the clot is partially or completely absent in the hole. This does not mean that the hole will become very sick or whine all day long, but certain painful sensations can be troubling.

It is also possible that during the daytime you, among other things, do a mouth rinse, which in some way “annoys” the gums. Here we are talking about both the benefits and some negative effects. That is why a number of dentists do not prescribe rinsing, fearing that they will lead to leaching of the clot and subsequent pain. At night, you do not rinse, do not eat, are at rest, so the gum is not irritated, and nothing hurts.

All this, of course, does not cancel the visit to the doctor when the situation worsens. In the meantime, enjoy life and listen to the condition of the tooth's hole.

4 days ago, a 26 tooth was removed. The tooth ball was partially destroyed and cracked right during the pulling. It hurt for about 2 days. Now the place of removal is pulsing a little (as if the vessel is generally close, to the beat of the heart rate). And a clot about 3 millimeters below the edge of the hole, and on top a whitish bloom. Been reading about all sorts of complications, now terribly afraid of the onset of alveolitis. There is no unpleasant smell, but the taste is excellent, especially in the morning. I wanted to ask if it was normal that the clot was a little lower (it was on the edge of the hole)? Will the complication begin after 5-7 days?

    Reply
    • Svyatoslav Gennadievich:

Hello! The risk of developing alveolitis 1-3 days after tooth extraction is always there, no matter how visually everything looks normal. However, complications after tooth extraction occur far as often as patients sometimes think. Even the worst dentist-surgeon, who removes 15-20 teeth a day, is much more likely to have left the root than the alveolitis (no more than 10 cases per 100 deletions). The point is that the healing of the hole most often does without the intervention of the dentist, and according to your description at the moment there is no point in worrying and waiting for something terrible.

If you are very worried about the result of the operation, then consult a dentist for a check-up - this will only be commendable, since normal doctors approve a routine inspection.

As regards your last question, I can say this: if the doctor did everything qualitatively, then the risk of complication 5-7 days after the tooth extraction (especially considering your description) is close to zero.

Hello! In your case, it is really important to deal with the problem at the dentist. The fact is that during the month the hole must go through a stage of primary healing, and normally the painful manifestations should be excluded at the moment. After examination, the doctor must draw conclusions - what exactly causes the aching pain and swelling of the gums. Maybe there are sharp edges of the alveoli, or the root of the tooth was left in the hole. Most likely, you will need a snapshot to make an accurate diagnosis. Accordingly, treatment is prescribed only after diagnosis.

Hello! Yesterday, at 16.00, two eights on the right side, the upper and the lower, were deleted. It seems that the operation went without complications, because the doctor calmly cut his gums and pulled out his teeth, which had not even erupted yet. Since two years ago I wore braces, I was immediately warned that soon I would need to remove eights. Here, in May, the gum swelled for several days, immediately took a picture, and he showed that wisdom teeth were almost near the surface.Thank God, without roots, practically, since they only began to develop, their position was also normal, like in all teeth.

After the dentist’s assurances that everything would go well, I calmed down a bit and decided to immediately remove two teeth, since I should not take antibiotics in pills because of the diagnosis of celiac disease. I have to look in ampoules that last night I was not sold in a pharmacy without a prescription.

But this is all lengthy reasoning. Perhaps I was winding myself up too much and wondering in vain. Immediately after removing the teeth, holding the ice around the cheek and removing the gauze by the surgeon, I went to the toilet and opened my mouth to at least see how everything looked. I saw a thin white piece of something incomprehensible, resembling either a residue of gauze or a piece of paper. She pulled out slowly and carefully herself. Only after the house I read and found out that this is a special sponge. But the fact is that the lower tooth was bleeding immediately after surgery. Not much, but it was not very pleasant to feel the taste of blood. Also, there certainly is also the upper tooth bleeding.

In a panic, she wrote messages to her surgeon, but he, unfortunately, did not stop by and did not respond. Tears flowed from my eyes, my relatives did not know how to calm them down.Sat with thoughts of what to do when the night was coming soon, where to go to stop the bleeding. Not eating at all, drank only a little water. She drank the nursery Nurofen, and the pain passed almost instantly, although she herself was not. But the pain of swallowing remained. And it is not in the throat, but as if the tongue, apparently, touches the edges of the holes, thereby causing pain. You can tolerate it, but you still cannot swallow so much. 4 hours after the operation, when I was already choking with tears at home, the bleeding stopped. The doctor replied that it was okay that I removed the sponge myself. Also said that there may be some discharge. Like, nothing to worry about.

With peace of mind went to bed, and then it began. I apologize for being blunt, but the drooling flowed so that all the pillows were wet. She lay down at 22.00, woke up at 3 at night. And that, during this time constantly woke up. Sometimes I could not even fall asleep, because I wanted to swallow everything. I noticed that it was extremely uncomfortable for me to lie on either side and even on my back, the wells start to whine a little, and either small bleeding opens, or it is just something that stands out, which my surgeon wrote to me about. I had to wake up completely and fix my body in a half-sitting, half-lying position. So almost do not feel whining in the wells and the allocation of less. But it is still extremely unpleasant to swallow. The swelling of the cheek was almost complete.

I apologize for writing so much and in such detail. But I have concerns that due to my stupid self-removal of the sponge, the healing process may decline. I'm going to go to the doctor today in the late afternoon (it is now 5 in the morning). It turns out that only about 12 hours have passed since the removal of wisdom teeth.

Very worried about how to care for the oral cavity. The mouth opens about half, beyond the most scary. I drink only water. I am afraid that if we eat, then the remnants of food will fall into the hole, and then there will be no healing at all. I am also afraid to brush my teeth with a brush in order not to injure myself even more. Tell me, please, is it enough to take boiled water at room temperature in your mouth, hold it and spit it out gently, so that you can slightly clean the mouth of any food debris?

And most importantly: as I wrote, I can not take antibiotics in pills. It was necessary to find in the ampoules for injections. But in the pharmacy they kicked off, and in the morning I think to go to another. It's okay that in the evening after the removal of the tooth, I did not give an injection, but I waited only for the next day? And what antibiotics in ampoules can you recommend?

I would appreciate if I get an answer!

Hello! Antibiotics are prescribed to you in this case for prevention, although many doctors consider such tactics to be fundamentally wrong. With complex deletions, doctors sometimes resort to this method, but in many situations this is not really required. About oral care. The best option is anti-inflammatory gels, which are prescribed by the dentist for local use. A good effect is given by mouth baths with decoctions of herbs (for example, chamomile or sage). It is the bath, not rinsing. In principle, after 5-6 days after tooth extraction, you can rinse with this broth without any problems after meals. Nothing bad will happen. As for boiled water taken by mouth: I have nothing against it, but you will not get much effect. The fact that you have delayed an antibiotic for the day is not a problem. As I said, antibiotics in most cases are not even required.

In my opinion, the best option would be an urgent appeal to the attending physician in order to analyze the situation and, if possible, adjust the treatment. A too large bunch of symptoms has brought you a traumatic removal of a wisdom tooth that has been impacted.

What you are seeing now is definitely not the norm. There is a need for a picture, since it is important to determine how clean the wound is: whether there are fragments of a tooth, apex of roots, cysts, granulomas in it. As a last resort, you can find 1-2 more orthodontists to get an explanation. • Good day, Andrey. Definitely, first remove, then crown. Damage to the 7th tooth during the removal of the 8th is quite possible, but now it is only a guess - it is necessary to ascertain such things not remotely, but upon careful examination of the oral cavity and the image. With regard to pain in the region of 3-5 teeth and an unpleasant odor - most likely, the cause is alveolitis (an inflammatory process in the hole that causes pain, which often radiates to adjacent teeth).

It is not worth experiencing, but it will be useful for the doctor to appear, and it is desirable for the other - not the one who removed the tooth.

    • It is a little about the mechanism of formation of similar defects: the top 6 tooth usually has three roots (two buccal and one palatal). If there was a chronic inflammatory process on one of the roots for a long time, then there is a high probability that when the tooth is removed, an oroantral message will occur, that is, a fistula that binds the oral cavity and the maxillary sinus.

It happens that such defects grow themselves, but this rarely happens. Evaluating your situation, I believe that in this case it does not make sense to wait for the epithelialization of the well.I recommend closing the defect surgically.

Now for the healing process. 2 weeks after the removal of the tooth the bottom of the hole should be covered with mucous membranes. The easiest way to check if a fistula has closed or not is to try to inflate the cheeks neatly (without fanaticism). If this can be done, then we can say that the fistula has closed. If failed, then the oroantral message is preserved.

I recommend to seek help from a dentist-surgeon for a speedy solution to the problem.

Hello, Svyatoslav Gennadyevich! 12/01/2017 removed the retentive 8-ku (bottom left). She began to cut through in 2010 and pushed 7-ku. 8-ka was located deep in the jaw bone and lay directly on the facial nerve. Both the doctor and I hoped that it would rise as it grew, but this did not happen.

Periodically, she became inflamed and, finally, the doctor decided to remove her. I live in a small northern town, there is no branch of the wards, and 8, in general, no one except this young doctor undertakes to vomit.

Deleted somewhere 1 hour 25 minutes. Removal was traumatic, no clot formed. The roots broke off (one 4 mm, the other 6 mm).The doctor tried to get them in different ways, but considering that they lie on the facial nerve and the tops were sclerosed with the jaw bone, due to the risk of paresthesia, he decided to remove the nerves in the root tips, leaving the tops themselves. Propyl azithromycin 3 days, 500 mg, nimesil 2 sachets 5 days. Every day for 6 days the doctor laid the alvogel. From the 7th day I am laying the solcoseryl as prescribed by a doctor and I go for a checkup every 2 days.

Pain, inflammation was not after removal, nor now.

Svyatoslav Gennadievich, I read all your answers, where you recommend removing the remnants of roots. But what about the nerve on which the tops lie? After all, the risk is very great!

The doctor says that, according to the structure, the roots have become like a jaw bone and strongly sclerosed with it, there will be no rejection, and if this happens, it will no longer lie on the nerve.

Please answer me (I do not find a place for myself), what to do ?! Should I remove the tops that lie on the nerve? Will these ill-fated tops be overtaken? What can be the healing time of the hole? And what could be in my case?

I really want to show you a CT scan. How to do it? Is alveolitis still possible? (I am shaking from this word ...) I really hope for your answer, THANK YOU VERY MUCH, in advance. Larisa

Hello! With all due respect to the surgeon, I have never heard of the treatment method applied to you. I am not sure that it is possible to qualitatively treat the canals in the left root tips of the tooth, removing the so-called “nerve”, if the roots have difficulty accessing + there is bleeding during the removal. Moreover, every dentist knows that the removal of the “nerve” is meaningless in the endodontic sense, if the channels are not sealed in the end (bacteria from the oral cavity will safely remain in these channels).

I suppose that after about an hour after the start of tooth extraction, the doctor had a stalemate: either to misinform and reassure you a little, or to honestly admit to a fiasco.

As for the possible damage to the nerve (this is the mandibular nerve) - here it is really difficult to say without a snapshot how close this nerve really was, and what tactics would be better or worse. The picture can be sent to the mail site. It now remains only to state that the work has not been completed, the consequences may be. It happens that the roots left in the hole after a few years begin to reject, or simply go into aggravation with all the consequences (edema, fever, severe pain, impaired mouth opening, etc.).

As for the alveolitis - given that 20 days have passed since the tooth was removed, it does not threaten you.

Hello! A week ago, the removed 8-ku was removed on the lower jaw. Nothing disturbs, but behind the 7th side there is a cavity on the cheek side, inside it is empty. This is normal? What should I do? And when does this cavity disappear? Thanks in advance )

    • Hello, Izzatbek. As a rule, the cavity in the area of the removed wisdom tooth completely overgrows in one month (even without additional replanting of bone tissue and suturing). Throughout this time, careful hygiene is especially important so that the contents of the oral cavity do not accumulate in the well. If nothing bothers you, then there is no inflammation, and normal healing proceeds.

Hello! Is it possible after the removal of the last tooth at the top right of the bone fracture so that it rests on the cheek? And the gum can not completely encircle the hole - as if cut. Dangles like a rag over the hole. The bone, like a wicket, is open in the middle of the gum to the side of the cheek. 9 days after removal.

    • Hello! Probably, during the extraction of the tooth the front wall of the hole broke. In such a situation, sharp edges and bone fragments are removed. In order for the well to heal properly, you need to consult a doctor in order to revise the well and remove fragments and sharp edges. If this is not done, the well will heal for a very long time. So I recommend you to contact a dentist-surgeon as soon as possible.

I read. After the removal of the 6th lower tooth, 6 days have passed. It hurts all. 3-4 times a day I take pain medication (Ketanov). And I think: we are conquering space, the oceans, the Arctic, and we have not learned how to remove the suffering from toothache and restore our teeth, it’s not up to us. Such flour - 21st century!

6 hours ago, 4 and 5 teeth were removed from above (fragile, since they have been treated since 1990). In the hole, a clot formed, and blood is layered on it (it is thickish). I do not know how to be - I will not get to the doctor in the next week. I tried to cut it off with scissors, but the clot increased again.

    • Hello Olga! After the removal of the teeth, a blood clot is always formed in the hole - this is absolutely normal, since it is a kind of biological bandage that prevents the infection from getting inside the wound. The first 3 days can not injure a clot at all.You write that you tried to remove (cut off) a part of the clot with scissors - you should not do this in order to avoid the development of alveolitis (inflammation of the hole). If the clot does not create extreme discomfort with its size, then it is better not to touch it, gradually it will begin to disintegrate.

Hello! I removed 6-ku on the lower jaw. The doctor said that he would lay down the collapse and sew the wound. But during the operation I was unable to understand when and how he laid the “bone”. According to my feelings, he endlessly alternately scraped the contents of the hole (curettage) and applied tampons from the bandage. He never laid stitches. He answered my question that he had done everything, but the wound was too small, the seam was not needed. I read that osteoplastic material can be “washed out” from the hole, if not sewn up. I had big doubts about the use of Kollapan by the doctor (he took a lot of money for this material).

Help, please, to understand how this operation should take place? How to understand that the collapse was used?

A clot a few days after the operation was covered with white bloom, became below the edges of the gums (as if it sank).Almost no pain, inflammation, too. I would be grateful for the answers!

    • Hello Anna. The granules of Kollapan are soaked with blood, they may not be visible. The material can really fall out of the hole without suturing. It is almost impossible to check now whether bone material has been used or not (even with the help of X-rays, since the Collapse is not X-ray contrast material).

White bloom is fibrin, one of the signs of normal healing of the hole, so I recommend looking at the situation from the positive side.

Hello! After implantation in the upper jaw according to the All on six system and removal of the lower wisdom tooth, it is painful to open the mouth wide in the jaw joint region (near the ear) for 2.5 weeks already. Implantation and removal was not carried out in my city, so it’s impossible to get an appointment with a doctor about it. Tell me, please, is this normal, does it happen? And what is the reason?

    • Hello Svetlana. The pain when opening the mouth can sometimes be observed - as a rule, when removing the 8-ki (until the hole has healed). About a month must pass. However, please note that after implantation, doctor's examinations are necessary, therefore I recommend periodically to come to the doctor for examination and to take pictures.

They removed 6 days ago the first of four eights (I will delete all 4). The removal is not difficult, it took about 20 seconds, there was no pain either after removal or in the following days. But I read that everyone has a “white bloom” on the next day — fibrin. And I, he, like, began to appear only on the sixth day. At least I hope it is him. Rinsing is not engaged, so that nothing washed out and a clot from the first day there. It upset me all that, now I will go for a consultation.
